3 Reasons Why Millie Bobby Brown Is Destined to Be the Next Natalie Portman
Here are three similarities shared between the two incredible actresses.
#NataliePortman has given consistently spectacular performances throughout her 20+ career as an A-list actress. Her performances range from the career-defining, as seen in her portrayal of a woman desperately trying to achieve perfection with her #AcademyAward-winning performance in 2010's Black Swan or this year's nominated Jackie. She also doesn't shy away from silly flicks like Your Highness or playing #AshtonKutcher's freaking friend with benefit! If Natalie Portman appears in anything, you are in for a treat.
Millie Bobby Brown experienced her breakout role portraying Eleven in the hit #Netflix series #StrangerThings and at only 12 years old, Brown seems to be on a trajectory headed for greatness. Portman was 13 when she starred in her breakout role as Mathilda in Luc Besson's 1994 brilliant crime drama, Léon: The Professional. Brown's feature film debut is slated to be in the highly anticipated sequel, #GodzillaKingOfMonsters.
Here are three similarities shared between the two incredible actresses. If she continues choosing great roles and staying all-around incredible, we may be having similar Oscar talks for Brown as we've been having for Portman!
1. Being An Incredible Talent At An Early Age
This is arguably the most important aspect to Brown. Natalie Portman's portrayal of Mathilda in The Professional is up there in the discussion for the greatest child acting of all-time. Young Portman took that incredibly intimidating role and managed to hold her own against acting heavyweights. The reason why Brown is so beloved in Stranger Things is because of how she managed to take the role of Eleven and make it entirely her own. The role requires a tremendous amount of work that ranges from major emotionally-heavy sequences to the light-hearted fun moments many 12 year old actresses can simply not pull off the way Brown has.
2. Fantastic Interviewing Skills
Natalie Portman's appearances on the iconic Late Show With David Letterman spanned two decades leading up to his final show in 2015. In 1996, a 14 year old Portman appeared on the show and in the very beginning of the interview she made a quick yet hilarious jab at Letterman's age:
"I've been alive as long as your show's been going on..."
Appearing on televised talk shows can be wildly intimidating for anyone, let alone a young person. Having the ability to banter with a host is a talent in and of itself and for what we have seen thus far with Brown, she is slaying in the interview department. From showcasing her inner Nicki Minaj by rapping on #JimmyFallon to her recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the man who (interestingly enough) took over the gig from Letterman, Brown's humor is another trait of hers that makes you want to see her succeed. Watching her describe her terror for bungalows is just fantastic:
"It's a house with no stairs..."
3. They. Look. Exactly. The. Same.
Anyone who claims Millie Bobby Brown and Natalie Portman do not share similar facial features is a liar. Does looking like your celebrity counterpart say something about one's professional talent? No. Is it something fun to bring up when discussing how fantastic Millie Bobby Brown is? Yes. Please view the conclusions of my scientifically-conducted googling:
