From sedate to sexy, these amazing dresses are all you ever dreamed of in your adorable geeky heart. Maybe you’re a serious scientists or programmer; maybe you’re just extremely serious about superheros or video games or Captain Malcolm Reynolds (*dreamy sigh*). Whatever your passion, wear it not just on your sleeve but all over when you’re out to a holiday party, a formal dance, or just out to dinner. These are conversation starters and comfortable evening wear at the same time and most are a good deal more affordable than what some of us probably spent on a lame-o prom dress back in the day (and by lame-o I mean not covered in Batman print). Now go rock it girl - geek style!

First of all, I LOVE this fabric. I’m much more of a Marvel girl than a DC lady, and this dress has Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine, Spiderman, and more. Second, WHAT a cute fit! I love the way that the straps coming down the front look almost like suspenders. This dress has a zipper down the back, a fitted bodice lined to the waist, halter neck straps, two length options (48cm and 60cm), and if you want an adorable petticoat underneath as is shown in many of the photos, you can get one separately from the same shop. And and AND she also sells matching head ties if you want to go all out. I’m thinking this would look pretty incredible with a velvet blazer overtop if it’s chilly outside and maybe some fishnets? You can get matching neckties too for 1) prom 2) special occasions 3) FUN. These are made to order so plan on at least 1-3 weeks for delivery. I just really need to add here that the creator suggests they may be used as bridesmaid dresses. Can I get married again?? Same man, but this time, MARVEL theme.

Can you wear this dress to work? Yes. Can you wear this dress to a cocktail party? Yes. Can you wear this dress to SAVE THE WORLD? Yes, you totally can, because it is covered with a completely mesmerizing circuity print. I feel like the uninitiated fashionistas would just look at this and assume that it was a tribal, random geometric kind of thing, which IS totally in, so you’re good there...BUT people who know what it really is will be beyond psyched to be in the same room with you, and also be jealous that they are wearing something from the mall (or wherever it is people shop for clothes these days - as I’ve mentioned before, my entire wardrobe consists of Star Wars t-shirts). This is ultimate geek chic, and I love that it’s not even a tiny bit skanky. Your grandma would even approve of this dress. Not that you need to please other people with what you wear! This dress will please YOU. Wear with booties

Talk about a Whovian’s fondest dream! Get ready to travel through time and space with the Doctor in your very own TARDIS dress. The details on this dress are totally incredible - not only does the print feature detailed wood grain, but you can even see Big Ben reflected in the windows. This is a custom, made-to-order sleeveless scoop neck print dress with a straight skirt and a solid black knit back. The serged seams are a nice detail too. If you don’t need this yourself, you probably know someone who does, am I right?

So this is one seriously comfortable dress, because it’s actually made from a 100% cotton American Apparel t-shirt dress with the cute wittle AT-AT printed on top in environmentally friendly ink. The edges are raw, so this might not be fancy enough for a special event, but it’s definitely perfect with leggings for casual parties and just wearing for no reason other than you were feeling like some Star Wars in your life (all the time). It’s loose-fitting on top and snug around the bottom. I love how something so simple can be so attractive with some red lipstick and toned arms (if only you could purchase the latter).

If you didn’t know any better, you’d almost think that the designers of the circuit board had fashion in mind when they created the technology. Neon on navy on not a lotta fabric makes this a splashy, fun choice for parties, dates, and probably not work (unless your job is really awesome and doesn’t have a dress code). The print stays vibrant through many washes. You can get this delivered in about 2-3 weeks (but the designer recommends 5 just to make sure it’ll arrive in time and not spoil your plans).

Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running, go save Princess Peach! Go! Today, full of energy, Mario runs today, full of energy, jumping! Today, full of energy, searching for coins, today, keep going, Mario! What, no, I’m not being totally random, I’m just quoting the English version of the lyrics to the Super Mario theme song (yes, really, click that link, it’s hilarious). If you love retro game characters like Yoshi, Toadstool, Mario, and Princess Toadstool, this fitted halter dress is for you. This dress is from the same amazing artist that does the Marvel dress, listed first here, so all the same options apply: you can get a matching headtie or necktie, a petticoat to go with (as pictured), and you can choose from two lengths (48cm or 60cm).

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to wear this dress! Ok, now that I got that joke out of the way, I can tell you that this dress has real actual NASA blueprints of the Saturn V rockets on the back (as pictured) and the Apollo lander on the front. This one flatters your body and your mind, and it will no doubt ignite many conversations at any party (ok, that joke was the creator’s, not mine - she also says this dress will “send your wardrobe into space”). I do feel like this is one dress that will have everyone staring at your every curve as they, you know, check out all the details, but if you’re confident then go for it!

Now this is one I’d wear out to the diner, to the park, to the movies, and especially when I’m avoiding the Borg. It’s not a costume, clearly, but the reference is pretty strong and I like that it doesn’t hide that at all. The skater skirt makes it so cute and girly and it’s definitely got a handmade touch. You can get it with either a high back or scoop back as you prefer, and the creator is happy to make other customizations as needed. She orders the fabric after you’ve asked for it to be made to your exact specifications, so you can be sure that it will fit the way you want. Live long and look amazing.

If you’re a dyed-in-the-wool browncoat, then you’ve going to love that on top of all the other references, this cute little number is printed with...Jayne’s hat. You see it? Yep, the orange one his mom made him. Also notice where it says “You can’t take the sky from me.” Whether you’re avoiding Reavers, getting ready for a shindig, or just trying to forget the Hands of Blue, there are probably few occasions you couldn’t make this work for.

The creators call this one “hacker-chic.” Love it. But what’ll really get you is that the pattern features original raw source code from the video game DOOM. If you’re a software engineer or computer programmers, you can even request to have your own code printed on the dress for an additional fee. And if that totally blows your mind, get ready for this: it’s blacklight-reactive. Like, where do you even wear this first?? So many options for you to elevate the dress code. Dress it down with a denim jacket, dress it up with some sparkly bling and heels. Either way you’re going to start some conversations and get people talking about what you’re most passionate about.

Na na na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na BATGIRL! This sweet little halter dress is printed with the Batman symbol and Batman comic drawings (once again, you can get matching accessories for this one like a head tie, neck tie, and petticoat as well as choose your skirt length). This one can go more subtle with a jacket or you can really oomph it up with blue hair (this model is just really rockin’ it don’t you think?) and some platform heels. That sparkly bow doesn’t hurt either. Being a fangirl has just never been so much fun.
