Are you ready for some web-slinging action? This year will see Tom Holland's latest incarnation of the ever-amazing Spider-Man take to his first solo outing, and fans couldn't be more excited. The second trailer was thrilling, and absolutely loaded with Easter Eggs — check it out!

Naturally, this being the Internet, fans are scouring through every second of the trailer in pursuit of Easter Eggs. Let's leave aside the obvious ones: the new Iron Man armor (based on the armor Tony Stark wore in the 'Ultimate' comic book universe), and Stark's dropping the 'friendly neighborhood Spider-Man' reference. It's time to dig deep, and see just what delights Marvel packed this trailer with...

An Appropriate License Plate

First up, check out this wonderful little detail — the license plate of a car in the background is a nod to Amazing Spider-Man #2, the Vulture's first appearance!

Now where have I seen clothes that reshape themselves to fit your physique at the touch of a button? That's right, Back to the Future! Oh, and Neon Genesis Evangelion too...

Damage Control and WHIH

An important moment. [Credit: Marvel Studios / Sony Pictures]

This one shot reveals the name of Tony Stark's new government project: Damage Control, a team who've been lifted straight out of the comics! Damage Control were once meant to have their own comedic TV show, but it seems they've been absorbed into the movie side of the MCU. Meanwhile, the report is from WHIH Newsfront, the MCU's very own in-universe news broadcaster. WHIH has been name-dropped a number of times on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Marvel actually run a YouTube channel where they release in-universe news reports to promote their films.

Impact Webbing

As we saw in this brief scene, Spider-Man has a range of different web-types in Homecoming. One seems to be based on the Scarlet Spider's "Impact Webbing" from the comics, which detonates in a sort of web-net on impact.

'Of Human Bondage'

A cheerful read. [Credit: Marvel Studios / Sony Pictures]

In one amusing scene, Peter and Ned are chatting about Captain America in gym — and Michelle, who clearly couldn't care less about sports, is reading a book. In case you're wondering, it's W. Somerset Maugham's Of Human Bondage. Not only does that book deal with the story of an orphaned youth who's sent to live with his aunt and uncle, a major arc focuses on the importance of self-control. The book seems like an amusing nod to Peter Parker's background and character journey in Homecoming.

Michelle's later seen wearing a T-shirt with a print of Sylvia Plath on it, confirming her status as queen of the readers!

Scarlet Spider

Peter Parker's home-made costume will be very familiar to Spider-Man fans — it's an inverted version of the Scarlet Spider outfit, right down to web-shooters on the outside! Does this hint we'll see a version of the infamous Clone Saga?

'Star Wars' Style Hologram

See what I mean? [Credit: Marvel Studios / Sony Pictures]

Back in Captain America: Civil War, Peter seemed more than a little vague about the whole 'Star Wars' thing — describing an AT-AT as "the walking thingy". Surprisingly, though, his room is absolutely jam-packed with Star Wars memorabilia, so we can guess he was just trying to cover up his geekdom in Civil War (and instead revealed his age). Regardless, there's a nice nod to Star Wars when Peter's wrist-gauntlets project a shimmering hologram of New York City (it seems they can do a lot more than just cast that Spider-Signal!).

The Vulture

"Alas, poor Yorick..." [Credit: Marvel Studios / Sony Pictures]

At one point, the Vulture is seen wearing a coat with a fur collar that's clearly reminiscent of his comic book costume. Meanwhile, the Staten Island incident is clearly a nod to the fact that the comic book character was born on Staten Island!

Meanwhile, the Vulture's tech mostly seems to be derived from Chitauri weapons and flying technology, but he's also seen holding an Iron Man helmet. Weirdly, the helmet has eyebrows scored on it. It's possible Vulture reverse-engineers this into his own helmet.

So there you have it, Spider-fans — the more exotic Easter Eggs from the second Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer! Let's face it, between now and the film's release this trailer is going to be watched lovingly by fans hundreds of thousands of times (perhaps more). So I'm sure we'll find more Easter Eggs as time goes by.
