Book stack! Here is one of my many bookstagram posts :)

Reading a really amazing book can often ruin your experience with other books you need to read on your ever-growing to be read list. There are so many ways to help branch out from this amazing book and straight into reading new books!

One thing that has worked for me in the past is just reading something that is a light, fun, quick read. Something you wouldn't normally read. Maybe you usually read fantasy books. After the A Court of Thorns & Roses series, you may want to pick up something completely different! Fantasy books have given me so many book hangovers, just because their content is so heavy. You become so enveloped into this story that it's seriously hard to stop thinking about it and just move on! I think reading contemporary books can really help someone read more. It kind of snaps you back into reality! That's what I would recommend doing after a fantasy book hangover. It has worked time and time again for me, so I hope it helps you!!

The next thing that I can think of to help a book hangover is to take a small break from reading anything. (Scary, I know. It can turn into a reading slump really fast!) Don't worry though, I really only recommend maybe taking a weekend away from reading just to clear your thoughts! I find this tip really helpful just because you get to relax and realize what exactly you want to read next. You can also take this time to just get recommendations of what to read next from other readers or taking bookish photos for your Instagram. (@lonelybookw0rm is mine!)

The last tip I have is to basically make a list of your to-be-read list and cross off ones you know you don't want to read next. Then, based upon which ones are left, you can try those and see which one you will actually end up reading! I've done this once, just by looking at my to-be-read bookshelf and re-reading the synopsis of your books! This has made me pick up books that have been on my shelves for a really long time and just being in the mood to pick it up!

I hope these tips come in handy for you after your recent reads! Reading is a tricky thing sometimes! I read the A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy by Sarah J. Maas and I'm still in a book hangover! I'm trying these tips and I'm hoping to pick my next book very soon! Happy reading ladies & gents! :)
