Here is an exclusive first look at the set for upcoming British short indie film The Call of the Void. Set inside the walls of an eccentric low-end hostel, "Hostel Dice," The Call of the Void is an abstract commentary on the complexities of a modern life, which exists in tandem with a social media reality of our own design, and one man's journey towards answering the unanswerable. Indie film enthusiasts will undoubtedly be intrigued to finally get a glimpse through the peephole and into the vivid, claustrophobic and surreal world of The Call of the Void.

The short film was written by, and will be directed by, Jack Price author of the UK kindle best-selling psychological horror Home. This is Price’s first narrative film release having plied his film trade in the sphere of music videos over the last couple of years and is expected to combine his typically non-linear narratives with his abstract style of making film. According to Price, “The Call of the Void is scheduled to start shooting a week on Monday, pre-production is complete and we can’t wait to get in the space and get to work with our extremely talented cast. I’m particularly excited to see how both the cast and audiences respond to the narrative as it asks a lot of questions that aren’t necessarily answered quickly.” So thankfully short film fanatics won’t have to wait too long for The Call of the Void to be released for digestion. If what the director has said is anything to go on, audiences will be invited to engage with the film and come to their own conclusions about the world that we currently inhabit.

Scheduled for a release in early October, The Call of the Void will be live streaming its premiere on its Facebook page for any eager fans who join the event group up to an hour before the showing. Yet another way that this short film marks itself out as unique, current and engaged with a modern day audience who are sure to respond. This short film gains itself another indie film badge of honour in running on a micro-budget of under 100 pounds. Impressive work for a project with such lofty ambition and scope. If the results live up to the ideals then The Call of the Void is bound to be a hit in the indie film community in which cost is just as big a factor as content.
