When Simon Kinberg and Bryan Singer were casting Psylocke, they had no doubts about who to cast. As Kinberg told CinemaBlend:
"We started talking about who that would be, and just literally looked at the list of different Horsemen over the history of the comics, and Psylocke was the one we thought was the most intriguing. And, ironically, or as fate would have it, I had just met with Olivia Munn about Deadpool - like a week or two before. And Bryan and I were up in Montreal, and I said, ‘You know, Olivia Munn could be an interesting Psylocke,’ so we went on the internet and Googled her images. And one of the first things that popped up was a piece of fan art of Olivia as Psylocke."
But it turns out fan artists weren't the only ones to connect Olivia Munn with Psylocke. Just yesterday, artist Paul Renaud shared this Tweet:
This was a (very rare) Venom variant cover for X-Force #20. Isn't it gorgeous? Here it is in all its glory:

It's fascinating to realize how closely Olivia Munn has been connected with Psylocke. Even professional Marvel variant covers have connected the two — and now she gets to play the part in film. Personally, I can't wait to see how this goes.
