Blossom

Blossom is the undeniable leader of the crime fighting trio. To get her inspired look of confidence and poise, you’ll need to rummage through your closet for lots of red accessories, and everything nice. With a simple red dress, black sash, bow, and the right hair and makeup, you can pull off this Powerpuff Girls cosplay Blossom look in no time.

Bubbles

Bubbles is the cute and sensitive Powerpuff Girl, made of innocence and sugar. To get the Bubbles look, you’ll need to dress yourself in a soft, baby blue. A light blue dress, the uniform black sash and white tights, and soft, innocent makeup all come together to help you pull of this Powerpuff Girls cosplay Bubbles look.

Buttercup

Everyone knows Buttercup as the toughest of the three, made of spice. Find yourself a green dress and jet black locks to put together Buttercup’s tomboy, tough costume. Don’t forget the classic black belt, and white tights to form a hard hitting, no-nonsense Powerpuff Girls cosplay Buttercup look.

The Dress

Each Powerpuff Girl has her own colored dress that coordinates with her personality and powers. It’s best to keep the dress simple and clean, like this Basic Fitted Tunic Tank Top Dress that you can buy on Amazon. They come in a variety of colors, so there’s a dress for every Powerpuff Girl. You can also use a dress you already have if it’s a solid color, red, light blue, or green, and fitted.

The Powerpuff Girls’ outfits are more than just a dress; they also wear a signature black sash around their waists. Any solid black scarf or sash that you might have lying around will do, but in case you can’t find one last minute you can buy a perfect replica online.

The last essential part of a Powerpuff Girls cosplay are the white tights that all the Powerpuff Girls wear. You can use a pair that you already own, but make sure they’re opaque and not sheer. It’s important that they have footed socks, and not legging type tights that cut off at the ankle.

The Hair

Now that you’ve got everything together for the Powerpuff Girls’ dress, it’s time for the hair.

Blossom has long orange-reddish hair with bangs covering her forehead. Her style is to keep it in a long pony tail. If you’ve already got this hair color, then great! If not, you can use temporary red hair spray or dye.

If you’re not willing to dye your hair and would rather wear a wig to get that authentic Blossom look, there are plenty of wigs that come in the right hue, length, and with bangs.

Once you’ve chosen how you want to approach Blossom’s ginger locks, the next step is her large red bow that she wears on top of her head. This bow can easily be made with some leftover red ribbon you may have lying around, or buy a nice one that is attached to a headband and easy to wear.

Whatever you do, don’t forget Blossom’s red bow! It is an important part of her signature Powerpuff Girls cosplay look!

Bubbles look is very simple, two blonde pigtails. Blonde hair is fairly common, so if you’ve been blessed with golden locks all you need to do is style it into two pigtails on either side of your head. If not, you can easily buy a wig to get Bubble’s recognizable blonde pigtails.

Buttercup’s hair might be the simplest of them all. She can be found donning a jet-black bob with bangs. Much like her character’s personality, Buttercup’s hair is sleek, tough, and doesn’t get in the way when she’s fighting crime. Unless your hair is already styled into a black bob a wig can get you looking like Buttercup in no time.

While makeup is not an essential part of the Powerpuff Girls cosplay look, it can add a fun flair to your costume. Playing around with bright colors and lots of reds, blues, and greens in your eye shadow and lipstick is a good idea. If you don’t already own a palette with a lot of bright, neon colors, try getting one with a wide variety of colors.

Traditionally, the Powerpuff Girls wear black Mary Janes with their white tights and colored dresses. If you don’t already have a pair of Mary Janes, any solid black shoe will do fine. If you want to dress it up a notch, black pumps can add a sexy edge to your Powerpuff Girls cosplay costume. Otherwise, black sneakers can work just as well.

Another fun accessory that you can use to top off your Powerpuff Girls cosplay look is these Powerpuff Girls Eye Disguise Glasses. They come in red, blue, and green to represent Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. They fit over your face just like normal sunglasses and are easy to see through. They give you the appearance of having the signature Powerpuff Girl big, round, cartoon eyes.

Creating your very own Powerpuff Girls cosplay costumes is easy and fun to do! Transforming yourself into a cute, crime fighting hero is all in a day’s work. It just takes a little rummaging through your closet and creativity to turn yourself into a real-life Blossom, Bubbles, or Buttercup. Use this Powerpuff Girls cosplay guide’s tips and helpful hints to recreate everyone’s favorite 90s crime fighting trio!
