‘Thor:’ The Most Confused Trilogy of All Time

Ranging From Action to Drama to Comedy

The 'Thor' trilogy has certainly been the most confused trilogy of all time. Why?

Simple, a trilogy must have a common theme between the movies and a consistency to tell a common and greater story. Such as the 'Lord of The Rings' trilogy or 'The Dark Knight' trilogy. But 'Thor,' is very much confused with itself.

The first movie we see a cocky Thor who starts to learn humility and becomes a better man with Loki on the throne and no sign of Thor's secret powers. And the theme? We can say more like a cheesy one than a serious one.

Second movie we see a very bad attempt at showing the bigger universe of Norse Mythology and Marvel's by introducing Dark Elves, an Infinity Stone and another love story which is not as interesting as the first. And again, with no hidden powers even under pressure and Loki on the throne...again. The themes here take a more serious turn compared to the first one and fails.

Third movie...look I liked the movie, it was fun. But Ragnarok shouldn't be fun. And by the way where were all the other gods?? It's not only Thor and Odin! Even in the comics we see the other gods. But here? Nothing is the same. Suddenly, the serious Thor becomes comic Thor. Hulk look worse than ever and sounds worse as well. All previously powerful characters become supremely weak and some even disappear. And suddenly...we see hidden powers where there were none in the past even at extreme pressure. Maybe the hammer is the reason but if it was in him all the time then the first movie we should've seen it. The theme here become comedy, tired jokes and not a shred of seriousness where there should've been. (Loki on the throne again...)

So this is my point, why is the 'Thor' trilogy so confused about what it wants to be? At least 'Iron Man' stuck to its themes, even 'Captain America' got better, but Thor seems...confused. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It's practically all over the place. Is it good now that Thor is a comedy? NO!

Because if you are going for Ragnarok, it needs to be serious, it's no joke. In my opinion the movie was an insult to everything about Norse. How can Surtur not know NO ONE is there??? Why are Hela's scenes so serious and wonderful but the rest of the movie is at odds with it by being funny?

Thor may have had a great trilogy if they stuck to Norse mythology and utilized it. Trust me, it is way better than Greek mythology. Marvel Comics typically don't dabble in that area but Thor could've been different.

I just hope that Thor 4 isn't a romance movie. Because the way they keep changing them...god help us.

Thor is and will always be the most confused trilogy of all time for not knowing what it wants to be. There is no real progression for the character, he still is the same at the end of Ragnarok, but with newfound powers which will seemingly be short-lived, since he is going to get himself a new axe or a hammer in Infinity War.

What do you think? Do you love the 'Thor' trilogy? Or think it could've been way better by knowing the plan beforehand like other trilogies?
