My top TV shows are very versatile. Some can be found on Netflix, some you have to search for. However, if you are anything like me, you are always looking for a new show that is good enough to catch your interest. Hopefully this list will help you.

1. 'Grey's Anatomy'

Grey's Anatomy is one of my favorite shows. To be honest, I am not normally into medical shows, but this one was highly suggested to me by a friend and after the first season I was completely hooked. I couldn't wait to see what crazy thing was going to happen next. Grey's Anatomy is currently on season 14, and to this day, I watch the next episodes as soon as they come out. The main character, Meredith, has been through more than anyone should go through and somehow she is still standing strong. She has built a life of loving friends and family around her. If you are looking for a show that has a very strong and realistic female lead, this is definitely a show for you.

2. 'Lost Girl'

Lost Girl is a show that I can watch over and over again. It is a Canadian television show revolving around supernatural creatures. The main character is a female named Bo who starts out very confused about what she is and why she hurts people. The show ran for 5 seasons and it is truly binge-worthy. However, please keep in mind this show is not for children or even young teenagers it does have a lot of sexual content wrapped up in the story. But if you are an adult and have an interest in the supernatural, this show should entice you as much as it did me with all the twists and turns through all 5 seasons.

3. 'Reign'

Reign is a show that is based in Europe about Queens. It finished its fourth season in June of 2017. For me, this show was a little bit closer to a chick flick with some really cool dramatic and violent points. The main character is the Queen of Scots, although she spends a lot of time in other countries. As her story unfolds, it drew me in more and more while I tried to figure out how many times she could make decisions just by reacting and how they were going to turn out.

4. 'Charmed'

Almost everyone has heard of Charmed. It is a show based on three witches that are sisters known as "the charmed ones." They fight evil while learning and growing as people in their personal lives and as sisters. Charmed ran from 1998 to 2006, totaling 8 seasons. At first, this show was a little slow to me and seemed repetitive, but after watching them in order I realized how much each episode grows from the previous one. However, as most people realize with Charmed there are episodes that you will absolutely love and episodes that you cannot stand. It all just depends on the person.

5. 'Young and Hungry'

For me, I love to cook. This show mixed in so many things I enjoy and made it 100% binge worthy in my opinion. It had romance, comedy, and cooking all wrapped in one. You truly become invested in the main characters life as you watch the show. The only downside to this show is that the episodes are very short. So far, there are 5 seasons. However, the second half of season five has yet to air due to Freeform splitting the season.

6. 'Shadowhunters'

Growing up we all read The Mortal Instrument books and most people have seen the movie as well. However, the TV show Shadowhunters has not only improved the story with the actors and actresses that they have chosen but the detail that they put into this show has allowed it to exceed any expectations they originally had. The story of Clary, Jace, Alec, and Izzy is one not to be missed. It has the supernatural feel with romance, suspense, and action. I love this show and watch it as soon as it comes out. Currently they only have two seasons out while season 3 is set to air in April of 2018. This is a show that you definitely not want to leave out of your must watch section.

7. 'Gilmore Girls'

I have personally been watching Gilmore Girls since I was young. I love this show to this day. The relationship that they have as mother and daughter was amazing and despite the trouble they went through and the mistakes they made in their lives the lessons to learn with that show and answers it gives young girls and boys were important while being wrapped in some very funny, sad, and realistic moments. Gilmore Girls had a total of seven seasons, none were to be missed, and recently due to the popularity of the show, Netflix has chosen to pay for an expansion to it. Although the expansion was a let down to some long-time fans, it did not stop the popularity that the expansion received, proving how loved this show has always been.

8. 'Vampire Diaries'

As you can tell, I come back to the supernatural shows often. I do have a strong liking for most of them. Vampire Diaries was a little different for me, though. This show is based on the main character Elena having two very different vampire males come into her life. In some ways, they improve it and in others they flip it upside down. The story is enticing because you have a naive and innocent character who jumps into a situation headfirst that she may have not thought through entirely. From that point on, she kinda just rolls with the changes while fighting for independence. Vampire Diaries aired for a total of eight seasons and I have to say, the producers and writers did an amazing job wrapping everything up leaving you with no questions about any of the characters you have grown to love throughout the seasons. Although this is another show I would recommend for being binge-worthy, I will warn you that it is very hard to binge. The episodes are long and at times you have a feeling of information and sensory overload while watching this show. But, if you have never seen it, please do yourself the favor of checking it out.

9. 'The Night Shift'

Now, once again, I am not a huge fan of medical shows. However, when I finished Grey's Anatomy, Netflix decided it was gonna try to be helpful by suggesting other shows. The Night Shift was one of those suggestions and my husband and I decided, why not, let's give it a try. For you couples out there, I will explain that due to my preferences having a romance theme and being more "girly," most shows my husband does not watch with me. But this one we both amazingly agreed on. It is a show based on doctors who are mostly out of the military. It has a lot of action as well as drama and did a really good job getting you attached to the characters early on. Normally, my top ten involves shows with a lot of episodes or that are still running. But The Night Shift had a total of four seasons and actually concluded the series August of this year. Despite this, it still made it onto my top 10 list which should tell you a lot in itself.

10. 'The Fosters' / 'Switched at Birth'

Now, you may be asking why for my tenth slot I chose to split it, and it's because both of these shows I loved and became my favorites. The Fosters is a show that focuses on foster kids and, although I have heard from people that it can be a bit much with its LGBT content, I feel like it also opens peoples' eyes to everyday problems that children and adults face. It covers the justice system, the foster system, LGBT concerns, and so much more, like bullying and mental health. For someone who may have questions or problems that they do not feel safe asking their peers this show could do a lot of good. It is filled with drama, mystery, and romance while still staying realistic. The fosters has currently aired four seasons and is in the middle of airing the fifth season spanning to 2018.

Switched at Birth is a show that focuses on the deaf community. Two girls were switched at birth and 16 years later find out, and do everything they can to get to know each other as well as their biological parents. For some people, this show may not be something they are interested in, because a good portion of it is in subtitles unless you know sign language. But for me, it is once again a show that not only opens your eyes to a different culture but also puts in a lot of content that teenagers and even some adults are going through. These shows can both help a lot of people and I hope that if you feel like you click with either of these shows that you check them out.

Every day I am finding new shows to watch and fall in love with. But currently this list is my top 10 favorites. If you have shows to suggest to me, please feel free to.
