As many of you remember, season 3 part A ended with Stephanie agreeing to try to have a baby with Jimmy via a surrogate. A Tanner-Gibbler baby sounds amazing, doesn’t it?!

For those of you who need a refresher, let us take a quick look at Stephanie’s fertility journey. In season 1 episode 5, “Mad Max,” Stephanie confided in DJ that she had found out that she could not have kids. However, in season 3 episode 8 “Maybe Baby,” Aunt Becky comes into town and takes Stephanie to see a fertility specialist to get a second opinion. After a test, the specialist tells Stephanie that although she herself can’t get pregnant, she does have a few viable eggs left and that it is possible she could have a baby through in vitro fertilization using a surrogate. However, because she only has a limited amount of viable eggs she should get started on the process as soon as possible. Stephanie is then left with a huge decision to make. At first she decides to not go through with it because she looked into it and realized there was no way she could afford it. Yet, the family (the Fullers, Katsopoli, Gladstones, Tanners, and Gibblers) decides to rally behind her and all chip in to help financially so she agrees she will give it a try. In season 3 episode 9 “Wedding or Not Here We Come,” Stephanie begins reviewing a list of potential sperm donors the fertility clinic sent over. Kimmy questions why she is not choosing her boyfriend, Jimmy, as the baby daddy and Stephanie says that although she loves Jimmy, she thinks it is “way too soon to ask for a lifelong commitment” and she does not want to put that kind of pressure on their relationship. When Jimmy finds out Stephanie is thinking about having a baby without him, he sets out to convince her to change her mind and she ultimately agrees that they will do this together.

So how soon are we going to see a Tanner-Gibbler baby? And who is going to be the surrogate?

Well, in a newly released trailer, Stephanie is shown saying, “the odds are less than 50% that this will work” and Kimmy replying, “my oven is preheated and easy bake, we’re getting pregnant.” Followed by a scene where Kimmy is trying to hug Danny saying, “bring it in, Grandpa!”

That is right, Kimmy said “we’re” so it appears Kimmy is going to be Stephanie and Jimmy’s surrogate! The choice makes total sense since she is Jimmy’s sister. People often choose members of their family to be their surrogates. (Remember Phoebe from F•R•I•E•N•D•S? Her brother and his wife needed a surrogate so she had triplets for them!) Altogether, Kimmy seems like the perfect choice! We just wonder what the dynamic will be like once Kimmy’s holding Stephanie’s baby? After all, they are always bickering! Maybe the baby will cause the rivalry to cease?

We also have to wonder if the “bring it in, Grandpa” Danny and Kimmy hug scene follows Kimmy announcing the fact she’s going to be Stephanie and Jimmy’s surrogate or that she’s pregnant? If it’s the latter, we could be seeing a Tanner-Gibbler baby sooner than later!

All in all, we are just SO excited that Stephanie has a chance at motherhood and she is choosing to embark on this adventure with Jimmy! Just imagine her face and his rock-hard abs— their baby would be beautiful! (Did you catch that S3E9 quote?) If Kimmy’s the surrogate, that is really just icing on the cake!

Will Kimmy be the surrogate for Stephanie and Jimmy? Tune into Fuller House season 3 part B on Netflix December 22nd to find out!
