I was born in 1985, and growing up there were so many family friendly shows available. Not to mention the classic cartoons that most people born 10 years later wouldn't even be able to relate to. If you are in the same generation as I am, you may have had a Super Nintendo or a Gameboy, you may remember cassette tapes and walkman players, you probably had a VCR and a wall of VHS tapes and you probably loved watching shows like Saved by the Bell, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Home Improvement, Family Matters and the entire T.G.I.F. lineup.

If that sounds like you then you probably either wanted to be these celebrities or date them.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Jonathan Taylor Thomas, or J.T.T., was the middle son on Home Improvement. He wasn't the super athlete, yet he wasn't the oddball child. He was the in-between, the mix of both aspects and that's part of why we all loved him so. We could relate to his character easily.

After his success on Home Improvement Jonathan had a couple family movie hits with Tom & Huck and Wild America before voicing a few animated characters and following that up with a few small television roles here and there.

Olsen Twins

The twins (Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen) stole our heart as they both portrayed Michelle Tanner in the 12 year running show, Full House. After they 'matured' nearly every adolescent boy wanted nothing more than to date one of them. They were the sweet girls next door that captured your heart.

After their success on Full House, the twins put out their own collection of direct-to-video films as well as attempting a couple more sitcoms focusing on the two sisters (Two of a Kind & So Little Time). After both stopped acting in 2010 & 2011 they both focused o their own ventures in the business world outside of Hollywood.

Melissa Joan Hart

Stepping into our television sets as the girl who explained the world to us, Melissa portrayed Clarissa in the Nickelodeon show Clarissa Explains It All. She followed that role up with a few small roles here and there and some animated characters before finding the character Sabrina Spellman in Sabrina: The Teenaged Witch and a few crossover episodes with the same character in Boy Meets World, Clueless, Teen Angel & You Wish.

After her success in both shows, Melissa had a few move TV movie appearances here and there in the mid 2000s before finding another sitcom where she partnered with Joey Lawrence in Melissa & Joey.

Tiffani Amber Thiessen

She stole our heart (and Mark-Paul Gossellar's) immediately as Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell. For many she was our first real crush in the early 90's then again in the mid 90's when she moved onto the college years with the Saved by the Bell cast. Shortly after Saved By The Bell Tiffany joined Beverly Hills, 90210 and enjoyed 6 more years as our infatuation.

After Saved by the Bell & Beverly Hills, 90210 ended Tiffani had a couple 'cancelled too soon' shows with Fastlane, Good Morning, Miami & What about Brian? before joining White Collar in 2009.

Danielle Fishel

Topanga Lawrence started off as the weird girl who you couldn't decide if she was adorable or just plain strange, then as she appeared more regularly we started to love her and eventually fall in love with her just as Cory Matthews did on Boy Meets World.

After Boy Meets World, Danielle had a few small roles here and there before reprising her role of Topanga 14 years later in Girl Meets World.

Amy Jo Johnson

The mid and late 90s were good to Amy Jo Johnson. She was on the receiving end of dozens of young boys while she portrayed Kimberly Hart/ The Pink Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and then a couple years later as Julie Emrick on Felicity.

After her success in the 90s, Amy had a couple more appearances on several tv shows: The Division, Wildfire, Flashpoint & Covert Affairs.

Larisa Oleynik

Larisa started out in a similar fashion to Melissa Joan Heart. Larisa stared in the Nickelodeon show, The Secret World of Alex Mack. After a freak accident, she is drenched in an illegal chemical and she gains several powers including: moving objects with her mind, shoot electrical zaps from her fingers and even morph into a puddle of liquid.

After Alex Mack, Larisa had a few major movie appearances and several television appearances including: 3rd Rock from the Sun, Pretty Little Liars, Hawaii Five-O and Mad Men.

Lacey Chabert

Lacey Chabert stole our hearts as Claudia Salinger on Party of Five and followed that up with the movie Lost in Space. During this time where she was stealing our hearts she had several animated characters that she voiced as well as countless appearances on other television shows and TV movies.

After Party of Five and Lost in Space, Lacey continued her career by voicing several animated characters including: The Wild Thornberrys, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Family Guy & Young Justice.

Neil Patrick Harris

Doogie Howser, M.D., the kid doctor that we all loved. Dr. Doogie Howser was Neil Patrick Harris' first major role, and he captured our attention. A few years later Neil joined several major movies and had a few appearances on various television shows.

After his stellar success in the 90's, Neil had quite a few animated characters that he voiced and a few other television series' before finding incredible success in the 9 year running show How I Met Your Mother.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar

Saved By The Bell gave us quite a few teen heartthrobs, Mark-Paul Gosselaar is another recipient of that status. He started out on the Disney Channel sitcom Good Morning, Miss Bliss before moving onto Saved By The Bell which made him a household name. Mark-Paul spent the next few years popping in and out of a few TV movies.

After his success on Saved by the Bell, Mark-Paul had numerous other television series' including NYPD Blue, Commander in Chief, Raising the Bar, Franklin & Bash and a stint on CSI:Crime Scene Investigation.
