Trying to remember some of those classics you used to watch when you were younger? Here they are!

These are some of the most classic Christmas movies out there! If you haven't watched them, shame on you. If you have, though, I hope you've seen them multiple times.

"It's a Wonderful Life"

This might be the oldest on this list, but it's one of the best. It's about a small town boy who just wants to get out and see the world. His plans, however, are thrown awry when his father passes away and the family business is at stake. He decides to stay and keep it going. Everyone else's lives seem to be going at a fast pace, but George Bailey is stuck at home. He ends up marrying the love of his life, having children, and living in the biggest house (cheapest) in his town. When something catastrophic happens, he wants to never be born, so an angel shows him what would've happened if he had, and we see what life would be like without George.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas"

This is my favorite on this list. I literally watch this three times during the month of December. I know all the words. Everyone knows the classic tale of how the Grinch hates Christmas and decides to steal it with his cute dog Max. Well, this is my favorite version because Jim Carey is hilarious.

"Elf"

So, this is probably one of the only movies I like with Will Ferrell. He is a lot of personality for me. But it's about an elf (who is really a human that went into Santa's bag and followed him to the North Pole) who goes to New York to find his family and how he navigates his new experiences, moving from the North Pole to the Big Apple. It's very humorous and has a lot of quotable lines.

"You sit on a throne of lies!"

"The Polar Express"

This is a great one for the kids to watch. It's about a kid who is starting to not believe in Santa anymore when boards the Polar Express and goes on an adventure to the North Pole to meet Santa. He meets many people along the way and is still trying to decide whether it's a dream or not. Tom Hanks plays almost everyone in this classic and that's probably why it is a classic! It's a great movie with some fun songs to enjoy with the kids!

"Miracle on 34th Street"

This is the only one on this list that I haven't seen. It's been redone a couple of times, but for good reason! It's such a cute show. I don't know why I haven't seen it. It's about a man named Kris Kringle who fills in for a drunk Santa and he becomes such a hit that everyone wants him to be their Santa! When he claims that he actually is Santa, a huge court case follows to see if this man is who he claims or if he is insane. Give the older one a try. Those are always a little more classic and authentic—unless you hate black and white.

"Home Alone"

After the second one these movies got dumb, but are these movies classic or what? A kid from a huge family gets left home accidentally and is subjected to a house robbery. But can this kid fool these dumb robbers? Well, if you've seen it, don't tell! It's full of humor, Christmas spirit, and intense pain! (You know what I mean if you've seen it.)

"A Christmas Story"

"I triple dog dare you!"

That was the ultimate dare that you couldn't back down from! This movie has so many one-liners, I couldn't quote them all if I tried! The story follows a funny family and their Christmas experience. It's a classic that all families need to watch!

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

I love this movie! And all of National Lampoon's movies. They are so funny it hurts—emotionally and physically sometimes! But it's just about the Griswold's Christmas with their family and how they handle the struggles of being with them during the holidays.

"The Santa Claus"

I heard some not so nice things about Tim Allen on the set of these movies, but the movies themselves are great, so I am going to try and not think about how he was back then. It's about a guy who catches Santa in the act and now has to become Santa. It's a very fun movie that is humorous and good for the family!

"A Christmas Carol"

Now depending on the version you watch, it can either be kid-friendly or not. There's a Muppet version, a creepy Jim Carrey version, or the classic version. It's about Scrooge (who we all know and love) and how he sees his past, present, and future of his Christmas lives and how he needs to become a better man.

"Jack Frost"

Michael Keaton is a legend. He has been Beetlejuice, cloned, and Batman. In this movie he becomes a snowman to help his family get over his untimely death. It's an uplifting sad show, but it is such a great watch!

"White Christmas"

This is an oldie, but a goldie. My dad and his uncle pretended to be the men who were pretending to play the women in a family talent show—most memorable moment of my father who will never do that again ha! But it's about two men and two women who come together in the weirdest way, but end up trying to save Christmas for a household. It's one of my favorite Christmas movies with the best songs in it! I mean it's Bing Crosby for heaven's sake!

"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Another oldie! This is the tale as old as time really! It's about good ole Rudolph! It's claymation, so it's a little dated in it's animation and quality, but that's what makes it great! It is definitely one for the family!

Bonus: "The Christmas Chronicles"

This is the newest addition to Christmas movies that will be watched for a long time! The premise of this show is about two kids who find themselves on Santa's sleigh! They go on a huge adventure and Santa even ends up in jail! I wrote a review on it if you want to check it and learn more about why it's such a great movie!
