15 Thoughts I Had While Watching 'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms'

#BestOfNetflix

I feel like this look on her face right now is a general explanation of my thoughts and feelings of the later half of the movie.

Recently, Netflix put up a new feature recommendation for me at the top of its website. Since my grandma took me to see The Nutcracker when I was a kid, I thought I would give it a try. I can certainly say that it did not disappoint. The movie certainly had a high budget that allowed the magic of the story to come to life, and the costumes were very glamourous. Over all, I must admit, I liked it.

'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms'

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is a 2018 Disney movie based on the well known, and the very classic, The Nutcracker ballet. It had a huge budget of 174 million dollars and then got terrible scores on Rotten Tomatoes to overall average to about... 35%. Yikes!

1. This is sad... I thought this was suppose to be a happy story

I remember a mouse, a shrinking lady, a gorgeous ballerina coming out of an egg and a toy soldier. I do NOT remember this sad intro.

2. I want a pet owl...

I'm getting some Harry Potter vibes from this movie...

3. Finding your present like this actually seems so fun!

It's like a scavenger hunt meets Christmas... who put all the work into this and why are they so awesome?

4. Why would the mom only send one daughter?

I guess favouritism isn't a new thing.

5. Yes! The owl is back!

I know it's just a movie, but I feel like that owl is here for me too.

6. This reminds me a lot of Narnia, just saying...

At first, I really thought this was going to take the whole Harry Potter kind of magic thing... but now I see this is clearly a Narnia kind of magic.

7. I like how it looks like she has wings

It's know it's cliche, but I still like it.

8. I feel like this would be my reaction too

This is her reaction to being told how dangerous "The Fourth Realm" is. However, she was also just told that she is a princess of a secret realm and that they want her to singlehandedly save them all... so she is probably a little overwhelmed right now. Just a little.

9. Can she do my hair too?

It seemed so quick and painless. This really must be a magical land if looking good is quick and painless.

10. See, this is the Nutcracker that I remember!

Weird costumes and ballet... truly a classic.

11. Definitely not a happy story...

This is bumming me out...

If you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want to have the ending spoiled... then please do not read the rest.

12. This clown scene is terrifying...

That whole "Fourth Dimension" scene is just an absolute nightmare... anyone and everyone who has a fear of clowns can't watch this part of the movie.

13. I feel like I should have seen this coming... but I didn't.

She really reminds me of Effie from The Hunger Games. Like... a lot! So I guess this movie reminds me of The Hunger Games now too.

14. I like her better as the bad guy

She was too annoying when she was nice. This just suits her character more.

15. I want him to follow her

Go to the other world. What is the worst that could happen... right? Fall in love, get married and all that other stuff. Be happy!

Getting Sentimental Over Here

Like I briefly mentioned earlier, my grandmother took me to see The Nutcracker ballet when I was about six. I must admit, now that I am seeing the movie here as an adult, I must have missed a lot of what was going on the first time around... like, the entire plot.

Hello. Nice to meet you! How are you? Hmm... this feels like a really once sided conversation... why don't you follow me on social media so I can get to know you too!

What did you think about it? What were your thought?

Feel free to post some tweets! I want to know what you guys think too!

Tag it #NDmythoughts and maybe even tag me in it too if you want.
