In case you hadn't heard, Supernatural is smack-dab in the middle of its thirteenth season next month. Not only does that make it the longest-running show the CW has ever had, but there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Also, the spin-off series, Wayward Sisters, is a go, and fans are (mostly) stoked.

With all the big things happening in #Winchester World, it seems high time to relive some memories from the last 12 seasons. Happy, funny, sad...they're all there, with 22 of the highest, lowest, and LOL-est moments Dean, Sam, John, Bobby, and Castiel have experienced so far.

"Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days." What better way to kick off a series where two brothers who continuously die for each other, happily reunite, and kick each others' ass? This is from the pilot episode, where Sammy is living a fairly normal life, going to college and living with his girlfriend.

Ah, brotherly love...the worse the prank, the more lovey the love was in Season 2 and beyond. When the #Winchesters weren't busy eating pie and slaying demons (or dying), they were giving each other hell, like any brothers would do. The spoon prank is classic Winchester goodness.

That last "Sam!" scream from Dean in the Season 2 finale is one of the most haunting moments of the series. The yellow-eyed demon was looking for that one "special kid," and Sam was in the running until Jake "killed" him. Dean was able to summon a crossroads demon later and bargain for his life, in exchange for one more year of living.

Dean becomes Batman with the help of a little luck in Season 3. In an episode full of rabbit's feet and Lauren Cohan (Bela on Supernatural, and Maggie on The Walking Dead), the boys each get their shot at luck when the possess the rabbit's foot, but everyone who benefits from the foot eventually loses it and has really, really bad luck. Sam even loses his shoe, the poor guy. Many good memes have been come from this episode.

This is what happens when you let the cameras keep rolling on the set of Supernatural, and wait to see what happens. The episode was called "Yellow Fever", and in it, fear kills. In the scene below, Dean was hiding in the Impala to keep safe, having been afflicted with the deadly fear. They decided to keep the cameras rolling to see what he'd do, and he did not disappoint.

The Season 4 opener actually starts out happy with zombie Dean, gets exciting as Bobby and Dean actually fight, and ends up funny with Dean getting a face full of holy water. It's totally understandable, though; Dean's deal with the Devil had just come due in the previous season finale, and the hell hounds were unleashed. He ended up in hell for a while, but he soon-to-be BFF #Castiel gripped him tight and raised him from perdition. Seeing Bobby making sure he wasn't a demon or other monster was pretty damn funny.

Nothing is sadder than a suicidal teddy bear, as shown in the magic wishing well episode of Season 4. A little girl wishes that her bear is real, and boy does he become real. He ponders life, realizes that all he was meant for was tea parties, and even tries to end his life. And fails. Think Species 2, but a whole lot less sexy.

Relive the insult that captured a generation, and get recaptured all over again. Or something like that. The apocalypse is about to begin; Sam is Lucifer, Adam is Michael, and Dean shows up to save the day with the Impala. Cass shows up and hellfires Adam/Michael, but not before getting in the namecalling to end all namecalling.

Seeing Sammy and Adam hemorrhaging to death in Season 5 sure ain't happy, but finally seeing Dean knife that assbutt Zachariah? Right in the face! This is before Adam becomes Michael's vessel, being the archangel's second choice to Dean. Zachariah has been a royal pain in the Winchester brothers' ass for an entire season, so it was extremely relieving to see him get bladed.

Dean drops trou in front of the whole world (okay, Sam and a hot nurse), raises his arms, shakes his stuff and yells "Pudding!" Okay, 'nuff said about the episode entitled "Sam, Interrupted." Even the sound effects of Dean shaking his stuff is hilariously cringe-worthy in a episode that saw the boys infiltrating a mental hospital that's being plagued by suspicious suicides.

"Swan Song" is probably one of, if not the best episodes of the entire series. Season 5's finale saw Sam overcome Lucifer and save Dean, allowing his brother to live a normal life for a year, full of pie, family, and more pie.

If the writers want Destiel to just go away, maybe they should stop writing scenes like this. Cass does his normal thing in this Season 6 episode, appearing out of nowhere and making the situation really awkward for them, and funny for us.

The Season 7 villain, Dick Roman, was a swell villain, but it was great to see him go. Too bad he killed the happy moment and took #Dean and #Cass to purgatory with him. He was the head of the Leviathan, a group of very old monsters who were some of God's firsts. Throughout the season, we see why God locked them away in Purgatory; they eat and destroy damn near everything in sight.

In this Season 8 episode, Castiel decides he wants to be a hunter like Sam and Dean, and hilarity ensues, but just not quite the way you'd think. The episode, "Hunteri Heroici," is full of cartoon-themed death and mayhem, including hearts bursting through chests and deaths by anvils. It's all caused by an old man in a retirement home, a psychokinetic named Fred, who's been trapped inside his own mind for years. His powers get out of control, and since he's always watching cartoons in his room, real life starts going looney tunes real quick.

Losing Kevin in Season 9 just sucked. We cried, Dean cried, and we've never really gotten over losing that cool little prophet. Kevin never wanted to be a prophet; he was just a normal, everyday genius college student, trying to pass his exams when he was chosen. He, Dean, and Sam went through a lot together, and the fact that it was an angel-possessed Sam who killed him made his death that much harder to deal with. Kevin dies...

...and Dean cries.

By this time, we knew that Dean was a Demon, but seeing him karaoke (very badly) still got a chuckle or two. Metatron had killed Dean, but #Crowley brought him back, wanting to howl at the moon on an epic roadtrip with the Winchester brother.

Let's go back down on the low part of the roller coaster, and revisit a second very tragic death. In two seasons' time at that. Thanks to angels, time travel is a thing in the Supernatural world, and if there was one thing the writers probably wish they could go back and change, it's Charlie's fate. Not only did her LGBTQ fan-favorite character VERY quickly become a fan-favorite, but her death seemed completely unnecessary. And weird to boot; she was killed by a member of the Styne family. Yeah, as in Frankenstein.

You read that right. In Season 12's "The One You've Been Waiting For," Hitler is resurrected after the pocket watch containing his soul is found. The story involves secret societies, fragments of the Ark of the Covenant, Hitler's descendant, and Dean making sure everyone knows that he did, in fact, kill Hitler.

The 200th episode of the show from Season 10, aptly titled "Fan Fiction," really was a love letter to fans. Dean and Sam investigate a missing teacher case, and it takes them to an all girls school that is in the middle of rehearsing a Supernatural play. As cool as this episode turned out to be, I'm still kind of glad there hasn't been that much singing on the show.

This Season 11 episode involves imaginary friends, and yes, Sam had one as a boy, and apparently still does. His name is Sully. And he needs the Winchesters' help. Seeing Dean get creeped out like never before makes this weird-ass episode totally worth it.

Dean loses his memory in Season 12. For anyone dealing with an elderly family member losing the war with dementia, this hit home pretty damn hard. After a witch hexes Dean, he begins losing his memory, starting with forgetting the names of the Bon Jovi band members. They initially think it's the result of a crazy liquor-filled night, but #Rowena tells the boys that Dean will eventually die, because he'll soon forget how to swallow. That includes pie.

He may not be positively, absolutely, undeniably and reliably dead, but Castiel looked it at the end of Season 12. That being said, he wasn't without his funny moments throughout the season. So, let's end this ride with a he's-not-quite-dead-ication to Cass, the angel who covers all the angles.

Let's hope this roller coaster keeps going in Season 13! With Scoobynatural, Dean possibly playing a new character (something like Sam/Lucifer or Sam/Gadreel), and Wayward Sisters coming at us, that shouldn't be a problem.
