25 Hi-Res Images from Captain America: Civil War Provide Insight into Upcoming Superhero Clash

Images from Captain America: Civil War have been released, presenting a clearer look at the stars of the film as well as hinting at information yet to be revealed. Here are the stills!

Captain America and Bucky Barnes, United They Stand

1. Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter are going out on a date.

It looks like Steve Rogers will finally get a love interest beyond Peggy Carter, in the form of her daughter Sharon Carter, a.k.a. Agent 13. Or the scene could be taken out of context — Steve and Sharon might have just attended Peggy Carter's funeral. After all, both are sporting somber formal attire.

2. T'Challa has vibranium-laced suit.

The king of Wakanda can be seen here in his Black Panther outfit, but without the hood. Could the extra vibranium tips function as weaponry?

3. Sam Wilson/Falcon wears a multi-functioning suit.

From laser beams on the gauntlets to retractable machine guns, it appears that Sam Wilson/Falcon is all decked out with new hardware in Captain America: Civil War. Not to forget that his drone Redwing is also housed in his suit. A glimpse of Redwing has been seen in the most recent clips for Captain America: Civil War.

4. Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye will have an ongoing friendship in 'Civil War'.

There are multiple screenshots of the two backing each other in a fight — including the huge airport scene teased in the trailers and now in these new images. We also get to see Scarlet Witch harnessing her power in a bid to tackle Vision while he has Hawkeye in his grasp. But for what reason would Vision be holding Hawkeye? Could the Civil War conflict breakout unexpectedly during a meeting between the Avengers?

5. Vision is going to be involving himself in more day-to-day activities, alongside his fellow Avengers.

He's been seen sitting at the round-table discussion with the rest of the Avengers. Though, the human apparel is going to come off when it's time to fight.

6. Bucky Barnes is set to be a main focal point of the film and his capture seems to be pivotal to the story.

Bucky Barnes has been captured by the United Nations and Iron Man's enforcers, and transported to the Raft. There could be further experiments conducted on Bucky Barnes. He's susceptible to brainwashing, so any number of influences could revert him back to his Winter Soldier identity.

7. General Thaddeus Ross can be seen here in a facility, most likely the incarceration facility popularly known as the Raft.

Ross might be primarily in charge of the Raft, and could want Bucky and Steve Rogers there for his own purposes. Is he planning to use them for Project Rebirth experiments?

8. Brock Rumlow is returning as the full-fledged Crossbones.

We see Crossbones and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow duking it out on an elevated surface — though how Black Widow is going to match up with Crossbones is yet to be seen. Crossbones has fitted mechanical gauntlets capable of sending Captain America flying, so what could he do to the unpowered Black Widow?

9. Falcon's wings are going to be used for more than flying in 'Captain America: Civil War'.

In the image above, he can be seen in battle using his prehensile wing as a bullet shield. We also get a glimpse of his gauntlet that's capable of high-strength laser beams. And in the background we get an image of Scarlet Witch in civilian attire fighting off something with her magic.

10. Baron Zemo has some evil plans in 'Civil War'.

We can now connect him to the underground organization of Hydra, as we can see a huge box of Hydra files on what must be "his" desk. That box could mean anything, but when it's on the desk of the main antagonist of the film, there's definitely a sinister correlation between the Hydra files and Baron Zemo possibly being in possession of them. With Zemo being associated with Hydra, did Baron Zemo continue Baron von Strucker's research from Avengers: Age of Ultron? Strucker succeeded with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, but no other experiments were shown as successes. It's possible that Baron Zemo has more experiments planned, but he'll need something from Steve Rogers' blood to conduct anything further.

11. War Machine also arrives on the scene, after Black Panther's pursuit of Bucky Barnes comes to a halt.

This could be the point in the film where all the Avengers and Bucky Barnes are called in, respectively. That is, after the chase scene of Bucky Barnes is concluded with Black Panther apprehending both Bucky Barnes and Captain America.

12. Iron Man and Captain America, post-confrontation.

Iron Man and Captain America are set to be on opposing sides in Captain America: Civil War, but they could ally with one another once again before the conclusion of the film. In the still above, it's clear this scene happens after Iron Man and Captain America have had their confrontation. Now it appears they are both looking at a shared adversary. Could they be looking at Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier with the intent to stop him? Was the fight between Iron Man, Captain America and Bucky Barnes taken out of context when the trio can be seen fighting in the trailers for Captain America: Civil War? Iron Man and Cap could have to band together to defeat the brainwashed Bucky Barnes, because the brainwashing aspect is likely to resurface inside of Bucky.

13. Brock Rumlow is returning from the dead as Crossbones.

Well, Rumlow didn't die in Captain America: Winter Soldier, but he was practically dead. Now he's back with a vengeance, sporting a mean scar, as well as an intimidating suit of armor with which to bring Captain America to his knees.

14. War Machine has finally revealed his War Hammer.

We can't tell what War Machine is going to do with that, but it's bound to be extremely entertaining when he gets to use it.

15. Black Panther in full costume!

Black Panther gussied up, stopping Captain America and Bucky Barnes from escaping again after a chase ensued in a civilian area. Are the soldiers behind Black Panther part of the Wakandan Army?

16. Looks like the tail end of the teased airport battle scene wherein Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch are looking on at something with concern.

What could have shocked them? They're standing in the midst of a disaster area — is the fight over or is it just beginning?

17. Black Panther dodging an explosion after Giant-Man throws a bus at him.

Vision can't be seen, but he breaks the huge vehicle in half to protect Black Panther. A clip has been seen of a bus being thrown at Black Panther, to where Vision jumps in and cuts the bus in half with a beam. No-one on Cap's team is capable of such a feat, except for perhaps Ant-Man/Giant-Man.

18. Team Cap lined up and ready for a fight.

The lines have been drawn, clearly. Who'll make the first move? Iron Man could be making a statement to his former comrades.

19. Martin Freeman seen playing an unidentified character.

20. Black Panther being fired upon by War Machine.

21. Vision doesn't like what he sees.

22. Crossbones/Brock Rumlow after he's been regenerated, following the injuries he sustained in 'Captain America: Winter Soldier'.

23. Bucky Barnes in containment.

24. The Raft, incarceration facility.

25. The fugitive Captain America is apprehended.
