30 Days of Thanksvember: What Truebies Are Thankful For
Here are 30 things that Truebies (myself included) over at True-Blood.net are thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In the spirit of the season, I am thankful for True Blood, which ended on Thanskgiving.
Every day in November, the folks at True-Blood.net shared something about True Blood and the Sookieverse that made them thankful. It's pretty much what I loved about this site. They are dedicated to True Blood from the very beginning, until the very end.
Here are 30 things that Truebies (myself included) over at True-Blood.net are thankful for.
1. We are thankful for Charlaine Harris
On the first day of Thanksvember, we are thankful for Charlaine Harris. Indeed, if Charlaine hadn't written the story of Sookie Stackhouse, life would be dull.
2. Lafayette's Happily ever after
Because we deserve to see him happy; and he deserves happiness.
3. Pam's Loyalty
Her one-liners, quick wit, and dark humor are all part of her charm, but we are thankful for her loyalty. I wonder what kind of vampire Eric would turn out to be without Pam by his side?
4. The Epic Villains
Enough said.
5. Alcide Hervaux
We met him first when he was sent by Eric to be Sookie's day guard. Ever since, this packmaster from Mississippi never clawed his way out of our hearts. His sacrifices (all of them) are what make us thankful for him.
6. Jason's dream* (NSFW)
I haven't always liked how Jason's mind worked, but for this one particular moment, I kind of did.
7. Jessica and Hoyt's True Love
Reunited at last!
8. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR ALAN BALL
We couldn't be more thankful to Alan Ball for bringing Southern Vampire Mysteries to the small screen.
9. Russell Edgington
He was voted to be the Ultimate True Blood villain, and we couldn't agree more. Denis O'Hare didn't just play Russel Edgington. He was Russel Edgington.
Now, time for the weather... Tiffany?
10. Andy and Holly
True-blood.net captioned this perfectly. "In a world where monsters really do go bump in the night, Andy and Holly ground us in reality and real love." It was also nice to see Andy man up and propose to Holly!
11. Terry Bellefleur's sweet soul
Even though he had a horrible past, Terry was the kindest guy on the show. I still can't believe he'd rather die than to have both he and his friend be haunted by the creepy ghost-thing they encountered during their service.
12. "BRO TALKS"
We would watch them read a phone book to each other even if they didn't get along.
Certainly, the next one isn't the reason why Eric and Pam kept her, I used to hate her too, but this one thing is what I'm going to remember about her the most:
13. GINGER'S SCREAM
Ginger's scream is really annoying, but admit that you miss it now that it's gone.
The next one, I still miss so much.
14. Godric
This wasn't the moment of breaking, but it was, for me.
15. Them
If we were all of the same age and equally good-looking as they are... I wouldn't mind saying this to either one of them.
16. These
Who would have known that the video store would someday be Fangtasia? Partial thanks to Ginger and her insane idea that Eric is a 'sex on a throne', which would most likely bring in a lot of money.
17. Arlene and Sookie's friendship
They weren't on good terms in the books (at least in the one that I've read!), but their friendship in the final season was one of the nicest things.
Up next is number 18, which we are thankful for, because we got to see her one last time before the series concluded.
18. Gran
In number 19, it made me sad to see her end that way, but she did find peace, and for that, I'm at peace for Tara too.
19. Tara's peace
Though I personally didn't like what happened to Tara's character, her finding her happiness is what's more important. She has endured so much her entire life. From having an abusive father, alcoholic mother, being discriminated, raped, killed, and then turned into a vampire... Her peace is something that I'm thankful we got to see.
20. Eric Northman (NSFW)
For all my fellow Truebies, for they are so close to my heart.. I will include this photo. *Winks*
21. Sam's new start
Sookie once mentioned to a young lad that if he wanted to get out of Bon Temps, better do it while he was young, otherwise he'd be stuck there forever. Although we didn't love that Sam went away and left his home, we are thankful for his opportunity for a new start.
22. Dr. Ludwig!
What would have happened to the supernatural victims if she wasn't there?
23. Family Ties
They got through a lot of struggles because of their families.
24. The music
The music was almost another character on the show. One of the best opening sequence as well.
25. Bill, of course
Bill acted like an a-hole sometimes, but he was a good person at heart. His intentions were good, even though sometimes it'd make you scratch your head. Rest in peace, Vampire Bill.
26. Audrey Fisher
Her costumes added so much to series!
27. Truebies!
Thanks to you for keeping the books and the show alive, forever.
28. Brian Buckner
We all know the show went on hiatus, and even if most people think it became appalling more than appealing, I'd rather have that than see the show end prematurely. And for continuing the show, I thank you, Brian.
29. Sookie Stackhouse
I have a lot of love for this woman. She's smart, kind and loyal. Sookie's also a total bad-ass and she's not afraid to tell you to "shut the f*ck up" (speaking your thoughts for you). She doesn't need a man to tell her what to do, and though she can be incredibly stubborn at times, it's a quality that you will love about her because she stands for what she knows is right, and will only cease if proven wrong.
30. The seven amazing seasons of True Blood.
We may not have loved every minute of True Blood, but we're still thankful for the hours of entertainment it gave us. Sitting down every Sunday night to savor the show with wide-eyed wonder and anticipation - Bon Temps and its townsfolk always had a way of keeping us all coming back. Thank you True Blood, for being an entertainment juggernaut all these years.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
