5 Facts about 'Fantastic Four' (2005)
I thought that it would be interesting to look back on the second attempt at making "The Fantastic Four" into a superhero movie.
With the new movie coming out in August, and it being 10 years since the 2005 version came out, I thought that it would be interesting to look back on the second attempt at making "The Fantastic Four" into a superhero movie.
1. Chris Evans improvised most of his dialogue
So those funny lines that are some of the best parts of the movie were actually made up by him... nice to know he has a sense of humor.
2. Michael Chiklis was actually a huge fan of the comic books
He also fought incredibly hard for the prosthetics to be used to transform him into The Thing instead of being made into CGI
3. This was the third superhero movie released in 2005, the first being 'Elektra' and the other being 'Batman Begins'
So it was definitely up against some tough competition being released around the same time as the others
4. Ioan had a hard time keeping up his American accent as he was constantly being sent revisions to the script
He is actually British
5. Stan Lee has said that Michael Chiklis' The Thing is his favorite performance in any Marvel movie ever
Completely understandable, he really put himself into the role

The Pearl by John Steinbeck
‘The Pearl’ is a well-known by under-read classic and, as a teacher, many of my students have absolutely loved it. Not just because it is short, but because it presents a storyline that is interesting and corrupting. Easy to read and easier to analyse, ‘The Pearl’ is one of Steinbeck’s hardest hitting classics with an underlying message about protecting what is actually important. By the end of the book, the reader is left defeated and believing in the wrong thing. The idealism around this book is incredible and it is so dark too. For a long while you are supporting the wrong people, thinking in the wrong way and the whole story becomes one long act of misdirection by Steinbeck to show in a ‘Monkey’s Paw’ fashion why we should never chase wealth and status.

Palm Royale's 4th episode - "Maxine Rolls the Dice"
The episode starts with a flashback to a 1949 event at the Dellacorte mansion with an audio of Maxine saying everyone has money but not everyone is truly rich. Maxine knows the importance of secrets but for her marriage, she's willing to tell him. She wants to tell him about her financial whims and his disinheritance but the strength of this stance dissolves. Unaware that Norma can hear her, Evelyn visits her to search for the key. Realizing this, she hugs her and says she misses her before asking about the key. Despite her search and their communication through eye blinking, she is unsuccessful.
