Here are 5 movies that I hope will give you... hope!!!

5. 'Philomena' (2013)

In 1952, Irish teenager Philomena (Judi Dench) became pregnant and was sent to a convent. When her baby, Anthony, was a toddler, the nuns took Philomena's child away from her without her approval and put him up for adoption in the United States. For the next 50 years, she desperately searched for her son. When former BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith (Steve Coogan) learns of the story, he becomes her ally and supporter on the journey of finding the long lost son. They travel together to America to find Anthony and become unexpectedly close friends in the process. Even though the movie is based on a sad, heartbreaking story it comes across as filled with love and positivity. It shows how important is focusing on the present.

4. 'Desert Flower' (2009)

Desert Flower

A beautiful, based on the story of Waris Dirie—Somali model, author, actress, and social activist. The honest, inspirational story about a woman who escapes from Somalia to find a better life in London. With incredible Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine, The Shape of Water) playing the supporting role of Marylin the movie is one of the most motivational stories I've ever seen/heard in my life. It reminds us how much we can achieve in life if we really put our minds to it. No matter how difficult our life used to be or still is. There's always a way. Keep focusing on your dreams, be kind and work hard.

3. 'La La Land' (2016)

Emma Stone in La La Land

I think that every actor can somehow relate to this movie. Working in a coffee shop while practicing the script, trying to coordinate your work schedule with auditions and acting classes, dealing with rejection. La La Land reminds us—actors, as well as all the other people working in different industries that we are all work in progress and that success comes with time. When you have a dream, you work hard and you're kind to people around you-you will succeed sooner or later. Don't focus on disappointments and the final result- focus on the journey. You got this!!! Emma Stone won the Academy Award for Best Leading Actress back in 2016 for her incredible performance in La La Land and her co-star Ryan Gosling was nominated for the Best Leading Actor award. The movie was nominated for 12 Academy Awards in 2016.

2. 'The Rebound' (2009)

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha in The Rebound

Not a very famous movie but so good... Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Sandy, a 40-year-old divorcee who's trying to build a new life with her kids in New York. She soon starts a relationship with a much younger man. Sparks fly between the couple but Sandy is not sure whether the relationship can last. A very uplifting story that instantly makes you want to hug everybody around. There are movies that just bring out such joyful and happy feelings and this is one of them.

1. 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006)

Abigail Breslin was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Little Miss Sunshine at the age of 10! The Hoover Family (Toni Collette, Steve Carell, Paul Dano, Alan Arkin) puts the fun back in dysfunctional by piling into a VW bus and heading to California to support little Olive Hoover (Abigail Breslin) in her bid to win the Little Miss Sunshine Contest. This awkward and dysfunctional family will make you laugh. The movie will also teach you how important self-love and family are. Start with accepting yourself—your flaws, your qualities, strengths, and weaknesses.
