5 Other MCU Characters Who Deserve Their Own Series

Marvel fans everywhere have been delighted by the news that TV series based on the characters of Loki and the ScarletWitch are in development for Disney's new streaming service.

If these upcoming series are successful, it is possible that other popular characters will get their day in the limelight.

So, which other MCU characters deserve a series?

Here are a few options..

Korg, one of the Grandmaster's enslaved gladiators, was a scene-stealer in Thor: Ragnarok. The Rock-creature with a heart of gold quickly cemented his place as a fan-favourite.

Ever since, fans have been clamouring for more of Korg. A series could be the perfect chance for the character to shine. Korg's fate has been left up in the air after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, but a prequel would suit him just as well.

Why did Korg hate his Mother's boyfriend?

What led him to stage a revolution in the first place?

How did he meet Meek?

Fans need to know!

2. Sharon Carter

Appearing mostly in a supporting role so far, Sharon Carter is the least developed of the main Avengers love interests.

This should change, as Sharon is a character with lots to explore.

It would be interesting to see how she rose through the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D, while trying to avoid being stuck in her Aunt Peggy's shadow. In Civil War, Sharon admits to not widely advertising her relation to Peggy for exactly that reason. However, it's very unlikely that this never came up at all.

What happened to Sharon after Civil War?

Was she successfully able to hide her role in Cap's escape, or has she been in trouble since we saw her last?

Emily Van Camp has proven her leading lady chops with her roles in Revenge and The Resident. With her at the helm, Agent Carter 2.0 has the potential to be just as thrilling as Peggy's TV adventures.

3. Nebula

Thanos's snap wiped out a huge number of much-loved characters at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. As one of the few survivors, Nebula, a supporting character to the Guardians of The Galaxy up until this point, is sure to receive a boost in importance for Avengers 4.

Therefore, this would be a perfect time to dig further into the character. The background of her adoptive sister, Gamora, was explored in Infinity War, revealing how she came to be adopted by Thanos.

But where are Nebula's people? How did she end up in the clutches of the Mad Titan?

Jumping a bit further forward, we could explore where Nebula went after leaving the Guardians at the end of Vol.2.

How did her relationship with them grow between then and Infinity War? In the short time we see them together, Gamora and Nebula appear closer than we've seen them before. As for the other Guardians, Nebula has gone from simply referring to all of them as "idiots" in Vol. 2 to being on a first-name basis with Mantis in Infinity War.

Perhaps most importantly, just how close did her "almost" successful attempt to kill Thanos get?

4. Shuri

Princess Shuri of Wakanda has been revealed as one of the most intelligent characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is responsible for the tech behind her brother's Black Panther suit. She was also the only character who, had things not gone to hell so quickly, could possibly have safely removed the Mind Stone from Vision's head.

But how exactly did a teenager come to be completely in charge of Wakanda's technological development?

Shuri was already in charge, and by the look of things, had been for quite a while, when T'Challa returns home at the beginning of Black Panther. This means that it was most likely her father, T'Chaka, who gave her this position.

As revealed in some prelude comics, T'Chaka trained with T'Challa for years before passing the mantle of Black Panther to him. These are clearly not the kind of decisions he made lightly. So, what did Shuri do to prove herself ready for such a big responsibility at such a young age?

If the movies follow comic canon, Shuri could be a very important character in the future. A series could be just the way to boost her profile before that time comes.

5. Valkyrie

Valkyrie was another scene-stealing new character in Thor: Ragnarok, and her character is ripe for expansion.

Valkyrie is clearly very different from the legendary Asgardian warrior Thor expected her to be. The tragic reason why is only seen in a brief flashback, but this could easily be built upon in a series.

Her pride at being a Valkyrie.

The tragic slaughter of her sisters.

Her fall from grace on Sakaar.

Or, for a more lighthearted idea, Valkyrie could be combined with earlier Korg series. Fan theories put Valkyrie, a confirmed survivor of The Snap, on the Grandmaster's party ship with a group of surviving Asgardians. If Korg also survived, that is most likely where he will be.

Their trip to Earth might not win any awards for great storytelling, but it would definitely be a lot of fun. Right now, a bit of lighthearted fun might be just what the MCU needs.
