The television series "The Flash" is coming up on the end of its second season. There are only three episodes left in the season, and some spectacular events are set to take place within those three episodes. For a recap of Episode 19 "Back to Normal", see The Flash: Life is not back to normal for Barry Allen. For a recap of Episode 20 "Rupture" and preview of Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur, see "The Flash, Season 2 Episode 21: Runaway Dinosaur". And for new images from Episode 22 "Invincible", see The Flash, Season 2 Ep 22 "Invincible" Images Reveal Un-Dead Reverb and Killer Frost.

The synopsis for Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur" and Episode 22 "Invincible" have already been released via Comicbook.com. Giving us a decent picture of the events set to happen on "The Flash" in the upcoming weeks. But there are a lot of questions we need answered before Season 2 of "The Flash" concludes. Season 2 of "The Flash" has delved heavily into the comic-book source material for which "The Flash" is based upon, all the while, giving the series its own signature, separate from the DC' Comics.

Synopsis for Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur" is as follows:

KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS – With Barry (Grant Gustin) gone, the team must figure out a way to handle the return of an old enemy – Girder (guest star Greg Finley). Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris (Candice Patton) volunteers to act as bait to trap him in S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life.

Synopsis for Episode 22 "Invincible" is as follows:

After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary’s Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy). Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Iris (Candice Patton) and Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipp) are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom

Last 3 episodes of "The Flash" Season 2 draws up more questions.

The synopsis for Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur" and Episode 22 "Invincible" gives away quite a bit of information on the upcoming episodes of "The Flash". For one, we know that Barry Allen will somehow find his way back to Earth-1 in Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur" as he's set to return to the streets of Central City in Episode 22 "Invincible". As well as learning of the Earth-2 doppelganger of Laurel Lance, Black Siren, reigning down some destruction on Earth-1 with an army of meta-humans on Zoom's behalf in that very episode. Those details give us a clue as to the showdown we're likely to see between Barry Allen/The Flash and Zoom/Hunter Zolomon in the Season 2 Finale. If those are the events set to happen on the penultimate episode of this season, than how monumental could the Season 2 Finale turn out to be. But there are some aspects of Season 2 that have been left unresolved. The synopsis for the next two episodes of "The Flash" give some hints to some of the major events set to happen on the television series, but we still need an explanation for how these events will play out. As well as answering some of the long-standing questions raised in Season 2 of "The Flash".

1. Will Wally West become Kid Flash?

The prospect of Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) becoming Kid Flash has been speculated since the actor was cast in the role. Fans have been expecting some event to imbue Wally West with his speedster abilities, or an alternate-Earth, Wally West making the jump to Earth-1, but the story may play out to the latter. Episode 20 "Rupture" saw both Wally West and Jesse Quick affected by the second, Particle Accelerator explosion. They weren't injured by the wave of energy from the explosion, but it's clear that there will be some effect on their physiology. And with the synopsis for Episode 22 "Invincible" practically stating that Wally West will be joining Barry Allen/The Flash on the streets to fight the meta-human army invading from Earth-2, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) is all but set to don his speedster alter-ego, Kid Flash. We can assume that Wally will develop his speedster abilities in the next episode of "The Flash", but as to how he'll become a costumed speedster may have been revealed in a previous episode of "The Flash", and it's not what you'd expect. Before going any further, we need to look back at a previous episode of "The Flash" in Season 2.

Recap of Season 2, Episode 7 "Gorilla City" of "The Flash".

To reiterate the events of Episode 7 "Gorilla City" of "The Flash", Gorilla Grodd returns and the only way to stop Grodd is to have the Harrison Wells of Earth-2 attempt to manipulate Grodd into standing down. The plan doesn't go so well as Grodd figures out the Earth-2, Harrison Wells isn't his master. But the episode doesn't end on a bad note, eventually Barry Allen is able to stop Gorilla Grodd. Here's where Episode 7 "Gorilla City" is relevant. Wells is able to hang up the Reverse-Flash suit without sustaining too much damage, but it won't be the last time we'll see the Reverse Flash's costume in Season 2.

How Wally West could become the new speedster of Central City.

With Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) almost guaranteed a place as a new speedster of Central City, it drives the question of which superhero alter-ego he'll represent. It's likely that Wally West will take on the moniker of Kid Flash, but as to where he'll get his iconic red and yellow suit from, might have already been revealed in a previous episode. Now there may not be enough time for someone, likely to be Cisco Ramon, to develop a brand new suit for Wally West, especially with Barry requiring a replacement after his old one was torn to pieces in the Particle Accelerator explosion during Episode 20 "Rupture". But is it possible that the need for Wally West to join Barry Allen on the streets will require Wally donning a suit that wouldn't ordinarily suit him? Possibly the Reverse-Flash's suit, from Episode 7 "Gorilla City"? The idea of Wally West in the Reverse-Flash's suit wouldn't be ideal in Central City, as the people of Central City know the Reverse Flash as a villain. But the need for Wally West on the streets on Central City to help Barry Allen/The Flash will outweigh public opinion of Wally West being seen as the Reverse Flash. But there's always an easy remedy to that in a superhero-verse. Cisco Ramon is likely going to be manufacturing the new speedster costumes, and with the need for a suit for Wally West, he may just be able to make some alterations to the Reverse Flash's costume, to have it resemble Wally West's iconic, Kid Flash costume. That's all speculative for the moment. Though it is likely that Wally West will need a temporary costume when he goes out to help Barry Allen/The Flash, and the only suit that would fit another speedster exists in the Reverse Flash's old suit.

2. Is Cisco Ramon going to be forced to open the breaches to Earth-2?

The synopsis for Episode 22 "Invincible" gives us enough information to determine that the breaches to Earth-2 will be opened once again. No one on Earth-1 who knows of the breaches would want them open, well except Harrison Wells, but he's not the one wanting to open the breaches. It's probable that Cisco Ramon of Earth-1 is going to open the breaches. But why would he? Unless Cisco's coerced in doing so, he won't have a reason to do such. Zoom will likely force Cisco to open the breaches, by threatening Caitlin's life. In that circumstance, Cisco Ramon would be forced to open the breaches to Earth-2, allowing Zoom's meta-human army led by the Black Siren onto Earth-1. Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) is the Earth-2 doppelganger of Laurel Lance, and the sidenote to her role in Episode 22 "Invincible" makes it seem like her place on Earth-2 closely resembles the darker, Sara Lance/Black Canary. We know that Black Siren, and an army of meta-humans will arrive on Earth-1, though we'll have to wait and see if another meta-human is capable of opening the breaches between worlds. Or if Cisco Ramon of Earth-1 is the only able to do that, now that his Earth-2 counterpart, Reverb is dead and SPOILER ALERT: the Earth-2 doppelganger of his brother, Danter was also murdered by Zoom in Episode 20 "Rupture".

3. Who is the man in the iron mask?

There's been so much speculation and theories to who the man in the mask could be, and there's probably a very good explanation for it. Guesses have ranged from the Earth-2, Henry Allen to another version of Jay Garrick. My guess is for that of the true, Jay Garrick. There's a possibility that a truly good, Jay Garrick exists on Earth-2. After the tidbit of information was released in the dialogue by Henry Allen, mentioning his mother's maiden name being that of Garrick, could draw some credibility to the theory of the man in the iron mask being a member of the Garrick family. Possibly with ties to Henry Allen or the current, Hunter Zolomon. If the facts have remained constant, Hunter Zolomon of Earth-2 took on the name of Jay Garrick, as his father's name was Jay Garrick. Could it be that the brief instance we see of Hunter Zolomon's father, Jay Garrick was a distortion of the man he was? Is it possible that the true Jay Garrick of Earth-2 was in fact a hero, and only appeared to be a murderer to Hunter Zolomon as a child, because of Hunter's mental state at the time? There's a statue on Earth-2, dedicated to Jay Garrick, which would also give some credibility to the theory of a good, Jay Garrick existing on that particular earth. In that circumstance, Hunter Zolomon might have his own father, Jay Garrick, locked away in that prison of his. Making the real, Jay Garrick, the man in the iron mask. Although it's possible that a future version of Hunter Zolomon could be the man in the iron mask as well. If Hunter Zolomon/Zoom learned that his actions would eventually lead to him becoming a hero, he might go as far to kidnap his future-self out of time, in order to see that his future has changed based on his actions in the current timeline. Placing his future-self within a chamber to see the effects pass on him, Hunter Zolomon/Zoom would be able to see the effects of his actions on the past and future.

4. Is Caitlin Snow going to die before the Season 2 Finale?

Season 2 of "The Flash" has built up an interesting character arc for Caitlin with Hunter Zolomon, Jay Garrick, Zoom, or whoever he really is. The more intriguing aspects of Zoom's personality deals with his compassion for Caitlin. Regardless of his malevolence towards the rest of the world, Zoom seems to hold a soft spot for Caitlin. Though it is likely that Zoom/Hunter Zolomon will see his compassion as a weakness, and eliminate the problem. Which means that Caitlin Snow would have to die, for Zoom to focus on his master plan of multiple, Earths' domination.

5. Where is Jesse Quick, and has she become a speedster as well?

The last time we saw Jesse Wells, or Jesse Quick, as Harrison Wells likes to call her, was in Episode 20 "Rupture". Episode 20 "Rupture" ended with Jesse Quick and Wally West being flung through STAR Labs, as Harrison Wells of Earth-2 attempted to recreate the Particle Accelerator explosion. Wells succeeded in creating the event, but it turned out worse for Barry Allen, than one thought. Apart from Barry Allen's fate, we got to see that both Jesse Quick and Wally West were hit by the radiating energy of the Particle Accelerator explosion. We don't know if they both will develop meta-human abilities, but their comic-book counterparts tell the tale of their future exploits. In DC' Comics, Wally West becomes Kid Flash, as Jesse Quick simply dons the moniker of the speedster, Jesse Quick. If Jesse is destined to become the next speedster of Central City, it's plausible to assume that her name will be reaffirmed as Jesse Wells, but her superhero moniker will be that of 'Jesse Quick. That is, if she's up for the part of another speedster in Season 3 of "The Flash". Or Season 2 could end with Team Flash suffering a loss in the form of Jesse Quick? Tom Cavanaugh, whom plays Harrison Wells on "The Flash" recently teased a death to come in the Season 2 Finale. Which could mean that Jesse Wells (Violet Beane) is exiting from the series altogether. Even if those are the set of events already in motion, death is never permanent when it comes to superheroes, so we may see her again, regardless of the events in the Season 2 Finale of "The Flash".

5. Could Cisco Ramon/Vibe be forced into the meta-human confrontation?

Episode 22 "Invincible" of "The Flash" is expected to see an army of meta-humans make the jump from their Earth to Earth-1. From the synopsis for the episode, we can put together that there will be quite a few meta-humans for Barry Allen/The Flash to take care of, all at once. Even with the assistance of Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale). There may be a need for the whole of Team Flash to head to the streets, in order to stop the meta-human army led by the Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). In that circumstance, Cisco's hesitation to utilize his meta-human abilities may be forced on him. Seeing his friends and family in danger of total annihilation may be the point that Cisco needs to fully become Vibe. It might not be what he wants, but Cisco is going to have to learn that "with great power, comes great responsibility" (sorry Spider-Man). Though it may take an event like Caitlyn Snow being murdered by Zoom, or his brother Dante falling victim to push Cisco Ramon over the limit. That wouldn't be a bad prospect to consider. However, it does open up a place for Cisco to develop more closely to his meta-human alter-ego of Earth-2, Reverb. If Cisco's assumption were right about fully developing his meta-human abilities, turning him into a villain rather than a hero.

Episode 21 "Runaway Dinosaur" premieres May 10, 2016. Directed by Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Clerks, Red State, Tusk). Images for the episode are embedded below.
