If you're a Marvel fan, you probably watched the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming a couple dozen times since its debut. While the trailer was amazing and depicted quite a few interesting scenes from the film, an even bigger announcement was made shortly after the trailer drop.

'Spider-Man: Homecoming 2' Already Confirmed

According to a report from Deadline, the sequel to #SpiderManHomecoming has already been confirmed for a 2019 release. Considering how Spider-Man: Homecoming hasn't even premiered yet and a sequel is in the works, it appears as if #SonyPictures and Marvel have some big plans for #SpiderMan in the #MCU. Apart from Iron Man flying alongside Spider-Man, the man behind metal mask (Tony Stark) appears to play a substantial role in Spider-Man: Homecoming as well, so it's quite possible his budding relationship with Peter Parker will continue to develop in the sequel.

Beyond Stark and Parker bonding during Spider-Man: Homecoming, the two will have much more hero work to attend to when the sequel comes around. Presumably speaking, after Homecoming concludes, Parker will be more capable as a superhero and able to accompany Tony Stark on more serious missions. Parker's experience isn't the only factor that'll play into the sequel. Accounting for multiple villains confirmed for Spider-Man: Homecoming — and the potential for other villains to be teased during the film — it appears as if the Sinister Six are going to be introduced as well.

Those are just some of my predictions for what might take place in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Here are five more things we want to see in the sequel.

5. Tony And Peter Work On A Science Project Together

Assuming there won't be a substantial time-jump between Spider-Man: Homecoming and the sequel, Peter Parker will still be in high school when he returns. He'll likely be more experienced as Spider-Man and might even have some encounters with other New York-based heroes like Daredevil and Luke Cage. All things said, Peter Parker will still be maturing as he goes through high school, and when it comes to high school and Peter Parker's expertise, the next logical place to go is a science fair.

Science fairs are common in high schools all across the United States so it wouldn't be unreasonable for Parker participate in one. Not only would Parker likely be participating in a science fair because of his own interests, but after spending time with tech genius Tony Stark during Spider-Man: Homecoming, Parker will probably have some ideas for his own science experiments — some of which he'll probably bounce off of Tony Stark beforehand.

Considering that Spider-Man's comic book counterpart develops his own gadgets, it's quite possible that aspect of Spider-Man's origins will be utilized in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

If Peter Parker and Tony Stark were to work on a science project together, it would probably be something that could be applied to their capabilities as superheroes.

4. Peter Parker Earns His Iron Spider Suit

When word of Spider-Man joining Captain America: Civil War came around, fans immediately assumed that Spider-Man would be donning his Iron Spider suit from the comics, but it turns out Spider-Man was given a more iconic appearance in his MCU debut. Keeping that in mind, Spider-Man can still don the Iron Spider suit, likely to happen at the conclusion of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

After witnessing Tony Stark develop a new suit for Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, it's only logical to assume that Stark would create Spider-Man's next suit as well. It may seem too early for Peter Parker to earn his Iron Spider suit, but it appears as if the events of Spider-Man Homecoming will see Peter Parker truly become worthy.

Spider-Man is going to be facing off with several well-known Marvel villains, including the Vulture, Shocker, the Tinkerer, and whoever else might come along the way. There's potential for several other well-known Marvel characters to show up, any of who could cause another problem for the still maturing Spider-Man. However, it looks like Spider-Man will come out of Spider-Man Homecoming a stronger hero and more developed character within the MCU. That being said, it'll be up to Tony Stark to decide if Peter is ready for the next step: becoming an Avenger.

3. (Post-'Infinity War') More Avengers Cameos

Another interesting aspect of Spider-Man Homecoming 2 is that it will take place post Avengers: Infinity War. We still don't know what will take place during the Infinity Wars, but the effects are almost guaranteed to extend into Spider-Man's world within the MCU. That said, the events of Avengers: Infinity War will likely reestablish some fugitive Avengers as heroes in the public eye, or some new Avengers will make their presence known on Earth — all of who could appear in Spider-Man Homecoming 2. Of course their appearances would be minimal at best, if not simple cameos.

The most logical candidate for New Avengers appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 would be Captain Marvel. There's a scheduled Captain Marvel feature slated for 2019, but it's possible for Captain Marvel to make her first appearance as early as Avengers: Infinity War. Captain Marvel is also slated for release the same year as Spider-Man Homecoming 2, so it's even likelier that Captain Marvel and Spider-Man will meet somewhere along the way.

2. Venom

One announcement that went under the radar Tom Rothman's (chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment) reveal that a "Venom" project was in the works and would be revealed soon. However, no new details have been revealed yet — or have they?

If we consider Sony's continued partnership with Marvel beyond Captain America: Civil War as evidence towards the two studios having likeminded plans, then Tom Rothman could have been referring to the announcement of a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming as the "Venom" project. No details of what will take place in Spider-Man Homecoming 2 have been divulged, but it's possible that Rothman's words towards a "Venom" project could have inadvertently revealed the main plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.

It's also quite probable that the #Venom property will be utilized in the near future, if we account for Spider-Man's continued existence within the MCU. Venom plays such a major part of Spider-Man's universe that Marvel and Sony would be foolish not to use a property like Venom in their Spider-Man features.

With all those factors stacked on each other, Venom appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 would be the most logical step to take in reintroducing Venom to the big screen. His previous appearance didn't go over so well, and Venom deserves another opportunity to prove he's worthy of the big screen.

1. Assembling The Sinister Six

[Credit: Marvel Comics]

It already looks like the Sinister Six is assembling for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Keeping in mind Sony's plan for a Sinister Six spin-off after Amazing Spider-Man 2, it's very probable Sony intends to continue developing the Sinister Six title in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Semblances of the villain team are already in play, with the Vulture being an original member of the Sinister Six. Rumors have lead some to believe that Spider-Man: Homecoming is indeed setting up Sinister Six for the sequel.

With the possibility of Sinister Six being set up in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, several more villains will either make appearances in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, or the majority of the team will be introduced at the onset of the sequel.

Adrian Toomes (the Vulture) is the only original member of the Sinister Six seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, so his villainous comrades introduced in the sequel would likely consist of: Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and Doctor Octopus.
