Fans of the show will know that each episode follows different people and different stories, so how could it all take place in the same world? Here are some of the biggest easter eggs that connect the episodes.

6. UKN

UKN is a media network that features in several Black Mirror episodes. The network crops up in Be Right Back when Hayley Atwell's character, Martha, receives an email from them. The network also broadcasts the same headline in the episodes The National Anthem and The Waldo Moment. The headline reads:

"Gerain Fitch cleared of wrongdoing following paparazzi scuffle."

This suggests that these two episodes are connected because the news is reporting on the same event. They're obviously in the same world and at a similar time within this world.

UKN appears in almost every Black Mirror episode, they could have used different news networks in different episodes but they chose to use the same one. Doesn't this prove that they're all living in the same world?

5. MASS

MASS is an implant which the soldiers in the episode Men Against Fire, are augmented with. This implant infects some people, which the soldiers track down and kill.

This MASS project is also mentioned in Hated In The Nation on a news sticker. The news sticker announces that the military is about to put the program into operation, suggesting that this episode takes place sometime before Men Against Fire. Why include the same military operation in more than one episode if these episodes weren't connected?

4. Saitogemu

Hated In The Nation is suggested to take place after the episode Playtest. In Hated In The Nation, the main character is seen watching TV when, UKN send out a broadcast stating that Saitogemu is being investigated over a tourist disappearance. Saitogemu is the gaming company featured in Playtest.

Saitogemu pops up again in Hated In The Nation when they're trending on twitter for their latest game release. They might have released a new game to try and distract people from the investigation.

They're using the same gaming company in more than one episode to connect this world together.

3. Victoria Skillane

In the episode White Christmas, the news comes on and hints to two other episodes. At the bottom of the image, there is references to MP Liam Monroe, from The Waldo Moment and Victoria Skillane, who is the criminal from White Bear.

Victoria was an accomplice in Ian Rannoch's murder of a young girl, they were engaged at the time. Victoria Skillane's trial is also referenced in Shut Up And Dance, as it crops up on a webpage.

In Hated In The Nation, there are two references to Victoria, as the episode reveals a twitter hashtag, '#DeathTo'. Using social media like this creates a sense of realism for the audience. The world within the world of Black Mirror are talking about this criminal.

Blue, who is the cop in Hated In The Nation, also says that she worked on the Ian Rannoch case. This proves that there is a Black Mirror timeline and that these episodes are shown in a different order to how they should be.

The creators could have used a different news article featuring a different criminal but instead they chose to use the same person because it is the same world and it shows consistency.

2. Waldo

Waldo first appeared in The Waldo Moment, he is an animated blue bear. The bear appears in other episodes too. It appears briefly as a sticker in the episode Shut Up And Dance. This is a really subtle easter egg but if you have an eye for detail you wouldn't have missed it.

Joe, a character in White Christmas, is flicking through channels on his TV and the late night talk show that featured in The Waldo Moment, appears on screen. This makes out that the events that took place in The Waldo Moment are real to this character.

Also, one of the characters from White Christmas watching the live stream, has the username 'I Am Waldo', which suggests that he could have watched the late night talk show. He obviously knows about the blue bear.

1. Sea Of Tranquility

Sea Of Tranquility is the name of a sci-fi show that features within the universe of Black Mirror. In Nosedive, Lacie catches a ride with cosplayers who are fans of the show.

In The National Anthem, a special effects expert is hired and mentions that he worked on the show, proving to the audience that these characters live in the same world because they're watching or working on the same TV shows.

If this doesn't prove that the episodes are all in the same universe then I don't know what will. They watch the same TV shows, they have the same news articles and they all get their games from the same company. There are plenty of easter eggs in Black Mirror, if you go back and watch the show for the second time, I guarantee, you will pick up on all the ones you missed the first time.

It's a really well-structured show because a lot of people might not have ever thought that the episodes were connected. Most of the easter eggs are subtle and easy to miss, it's a clever way of doing it. The creators have thought about this and put a lot of effort into making this show as special as it is. I hope you now believe that all these episodes take place in the same universe because I, certainly do.

Did you notice any of these easter eggs?
