The heroes united unlike any other MCU film in Avengers: Endgame.

(Heavy spoilers, read at your own risk.)

Well the long-awaited fourth Avengers film has finally landed, and is currently set to break multiple box office records. It could even become the highest grossing film of all time, if the predictions come true. That is not really surprising considering the last 12 years have been gearing fans for the ultimate battle between the heroes of the MCU against the tyrannical Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Now the battle has been fought, here are five things that are likely to come to the MCU now Thanos has been defeated.

A new hawk will rise.

Is Hawkeye II on her way?

This is perhaps the most obvious one, as it was revealed in the trailers. Hawkeye is mentoring his daughter in the ways of the archer and even calls her Hawkeye during the scene. However, the biggest question is if this will be the case simply due to her name. In the comics the second Hawkeye is Kate Bishop, a skilled archer who joins the Young Avengers. However, Clint's daughter is called Violet Barton. Now, while this is just a name change, it does suggest if she is destined to follow her father's footsteps that she will be a new variation of the character. But then it is also possible Clint calling her Hawkeye was just a father's nickname for his daughter.

Enter the Young Avengers

The next generations of Avengers are certainly young.

With a Hawkeye II seemingly being hinted at, another young Avenger was also in Avengers: Endgame. Scott Lang was freed from the Quantum Realm but an inquisitive rat, and released him five years after the snap. Much to his relief his daughter had not been one of Thanos's victims. But now she is a teenager and is relieved to see her father alive. This would make her the perfect age to follow her father's footsteps and fulfill her own destiny as Stature. Even with the first two Antman films it is clear she idolizes her father. One thing the movies have not been scared of is changing team lineups, and with Brie Larson wanting Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel) to appear and Spider-Man already in the MCU, they practically have a team of young heroes ready to turn into the young Avengers.

A new guardian joined the team.

Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy

One thing that did not surprise many, Thor left Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Given the comedy behind Thor and Quill's relationship added with the bond he has with Groot and Rocket, it makes perfect sense. This power addition to the team makes even more sense when it is suspected that Adam Warlock will be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given Warlock's powers and abilities, the Guardians would have had a bigger struggle bringing him down without Thor, so it may just be for a single film, but Thor with the Guardians is most likely going to make Vol. 3 a massive hit.

Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it's Captain America.

The Newest Captain America

Fans had suspected that Avengers: Endgame was set to be the final films for both Robert Downy Jr. and Chris Evans. But this caused fans to speculate further, for years, as to which character would be taking Cap's shield? Would it be Bucky or Sam? Well at the conclusion Steve chose Falcon to be the next hero to don his shield and become the next Captain America. This means the next Captain America film is going to be extremely different to the first three as a new Captain gets used to the weight of the shield and the symbol he will now represent to the world. Good luck Sam, I feel you are going to need it.

An All Female Avengers Movie

The Ladies of Marvel United in Battle

One moment in the final battle that pleased fans was when all the women united (including Pepper Potts as Rescue) to protect Captain Marvel as she attempted to get the Infinity Gauntlet away from Thanos. Literally all of them, except poor Black Widow, were in the charge into battle and it almost felt like Marvel were testing an idea in that moment. Over the decades, women in Marvel comics have formed teams and taken on threats without the help of the male heroes. Could Marvel be planning a true girl-powered MCU film in the future? Given their hints of the women taking a more active role in the MCU it seems highly likely we could indeed receive an all female Avengers movie.

Thanos is not Done with just yet.

Thanos is likely to return.

Now this one may seem crazy, as at the end of the film he was snapped into dust along with his forces. However, Josh Brolin who played Thanos has confirmed he has signed a ten year contract. This instantly suggests the purple titan is not finished with yet. The question is how? Well one option is he could appear through alternate realities. The Ancient One explained to Banner that removing the Infinity Stones from their timelines would create alternate realities, and perhaps Thanos will see all dimensions in need of his style of balance in the universe.

What do you think will come now Avengers: Endgame has finally finished a 12 year long saga?
