A Human, A Humble, A Hero

Here's a person who goes above and beyond for others

There are those who try to hard to protect everyone and hurt themselves as a result. There are also those who put in their best efforts when trying to help a mass amount of people, and that mass amount assures the person that their best is more than enough. Thomas Sanders and the peers who help him belong in the latter.

For Thomas Sanders, the fact that his father is an educator contributes to his own desire to mentor and help others, which is also proven by his other occupation attempts. It wouldn't matter too much to him what exactly someone is experiencing or going through, it's clear that he genuinely cares and wants to help those who clearly need it. Though it wouldn't be possible for him to run up to everyone dealing with certain issues, and hug them while telling them that things will get better, the content he posts that he and his team evidently work really hard on are a great method of doing so.

There might be people out there who know a little bit about Thomas Sanders, and doubt his ability to help others in situations that he himself hasn't experienced. As a response, I feel it's best to address that, yes, he acknowledges that he doesn't have all the answers, and, no, he doesn't claim to be an almighty being that would automatically be an expert. No matter how many times plenty of us call him an angel, or jokingly express the idea of making a religion surrounding him, Thomas still makes it known that he's merely a human with his own flaws and limitations, and is actually learning as well as teaching in his own way. Thomas has acknowledged the sources of his research, so that he remains careful not to say anything wrong, and even occasionally either cites his content or the description of his videos, as well as reminders that he's not a professional, and that the pieces of advice that he gives might not work for everyone.

At first glance, someone might just see Thomas as this silly grown man that you may or may not recognize from Vine; some might not think that he can be serious or educational. However, who says education and silliness can't mix to make something better? Although Thomas isn't the only example of that method coming to life, he certainly executes it rather well without half-assing material or taking himself too seriously. There might be folks out there who are uncertain about turning to someone for help, because they might feel childish doing so, but the child-like sense of humor attached has shown to not only bring the community inside jokes to laugh at for days on end, but it has also made us a little more comfortable, and less intimidated by watching him and considering him an idol.

As it has been said by Newton, "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." In this case, the community that has formed thanks to our love for Thomas Sanders gives our love and assurance back to him in many ways: letting him know online not to rush his projects, complimenting him, making artwork based on his works and his friends, and many more methods to assure him that he and his friends are doing something right when making this genuine content. Why do we see Thomas as a hero? He makes it clear that, to him, we're more than just social media statistics. He knows very well that we're all humans attempting to survive the world in so many different ways. Online or offline, he does his best to let us know that we're at least appreciated by him, and that he's grateful that we appreciate him back. In a world that brings more attention to the rainstorms, he is simultaneously the sunshine and rainbow that we need and would like to share for others who need him. Long story short, we love you, Thomas Sanders, and thank you for all you've done, and all you will do.
