Okay, Let's see, Ant Man and The Wasp, the dynamic duo of Marvel Comics has finally been brought to the big screen. Its prequel, which was filled with loads of seriousness balanced with witty humour and human jukebox-ness was, in my very useless opinion, the most hilarious superhero film apart from Marvel's, Thor: Ragnarok. Well, to put it simply, Ant Man and The Wasp definitely lives up to the original humour and overall uniqueness of its predecessor.

What's really great about the two Ant Man movies is that they keep a really good balance between action, humour, suspense, and love. Through the course of the film we see the great bond that Paul Rudd's Scott and his daughter Cassie share, often making the audience go 'Awww', the vibe between Evangeline Lilly's Hope and Scott is shown innumerable times, often balanced out with hilarious one liners from Michael Douglas's Hank Pym. The comedy through the film remains fantastic, with hilarious one liners from Scott. A mix of verbal and practical comedy from Kurt, excessive jukebox and dorky-ness from Luis, and a little sense of humour from the antagonists too. Awesome directing from Peyton Reed's side gives a balance between all of these themes and emotions with a very progressive and action packed story line.

I also love how the movie manages to fit in two antagonists who both have very varying motives. While there is more focus on one of the antagonists, Ghost, the film manages to make it feel like the second antagonist, Sonny Burch, is not just a negligible supporting character but a character that delivers a bit of humour and enigma to the story line.

I would also like to thank the makers of the movie for finally putting the 'two villains with the same motives team up so that they can become stronger' cliche out of practice. In fact, the antagonists actually opposed each other at times in the film.

Improvements from the prequel in Ant Man and The Wasp are also in order.

The thing I kind of hated about Ant Man was that there just didn't seem to be a very consistent chemistry between the actors (Except between Scott and Cassie). In Ant Man and The Wasp, however, the chemistry between the actors and actresses is just fantastic, both in comedy, fighting sequences, and just talking in general.

Furthermore, Ant Man and The Wasp just feels like a very perfectly cooked dish, with the right amount of every flavor. In Ant Man there wasn't really a very significant cohesion between the themes explored through the plot, with comedy sequences taking a few scenes, action sequences taking a few scenes etc. For me, it was too distinct and overly spread out. Its sequel really brings joy to me because every scene has been directed wonderfully. Action, comedy, bonds among other things all complement each other in every single scene, making for some very well-blended, progressive variations in the storyline.

Now a very irritating thing from Ant Man was that it focused too much on Scott and gave less importance to the supporting characters who were equally interesting. My hopes in the sequel were fulfilled, supporting characters like Hank Pym and Luis were given story lines where there was scope for character development and this scope was actually fulfilled

Anyhow, finally coming to my conclusion I would say that if you loved Ant Man for its humour and display of emotions with well balanced action you will definitely love the improvements that its sequel, Ant Man and The Wasp, has made.
