Season 14 of Supernatural is coming right for us this Halloween season with the first episode coming on the 11th of October. And it has been quite awhile since last season. What’s going on again? Who’s dead? Who’s alive? Do we have any idea of what’s to come? No worries!! For I can provide you with some answers so we all can be ready for this next season.

The Journey So Far…

In season 13, we got introduced to Jack. A nephlium as well as Lucifer’s son, who had ripped a tear in reality to an alternate universe where Mary didn’t make the deal to Azazel (Yellow Eyes) to save her husband. Thus bringing the apocalypse that Dean and Sam couldn’t save with the archangel, Micheal as the head ruler.

As Sam and Dean decide to bring everyone to their universe. They end up trying to leave Lucifer there, hoping he would die by Micheal’s hands. It doesn’t work as Lucifer and Micheal make a deal to work together. And it almost works, with Jack planning on leaving with Lucifer while Micheal would take over. Until, Sam calls out to Jack in prayer and Jack comes and heavily damages Micheal’s vessel.

Lucifer’s anger brings him to Jack and to steal his grace. Giving him full power and about to start the world over and about to have Jack or Sam die. Leaving Dean desperate and accepts Micheal to use him, the Micheal Sword, to defeat Lucifer on the condition that it’s only a one-time deal.

Dean ends up winning and killing Lucifer, but Micheal backs out of the deal and takes over Dean’s body and disappearing. Leaving everyone to wonder what will happen next…

Who’s dead?

It has now been a question we now have to ask every season. Who is still around when the season is up? If that’s be a good or a bad thing is anyone’s guess.

Starting with the bad news, back in season 12, we saw the lost of Crowley the King of Hell. Many thought he would make a return in season 13, but it hasn’t happened. Is there any chance now? We’ll have to wait and see.

Missouri Moseley, who was a friend of John Winchester and a very talented psychic from back in season 1, met her end as the wraith she thought went after her son and granddaughter went for her instead. Her granddaughter, Patience, having the same powers, leaves her home and joins Jody Mill’s home in the new spin-off series Wayword Sisters.

Donatello Redfield, Prophet of the Lord who originally had his soul eaten by Amara in season 11, returns to help find a way to get Jack and Mary back through the rift. But, gets corrupted by Asmodeus and the Demon Tablet itself to not to reveal the information to the Winchesters, leading Castiel to dig the information out of him, leaving Donatello brain-dead with machines keeping him alive.

Season 13 brought back many missed faces due to there being an alternate reality, but unfortunately, not everyone made it through the whole season. Another Prophet of the Lord, Nick Tran, who had originally died in season 9, returns still as a prophet and helps the angels of the alternate universe. He later in the season sacrifices himself and ends up killing some of the rebels in order to be with his mom in heaven. Even if we do miss our prophet, we are glad he is in a better place now.

Fan-favorite Gabriel, thought to be dead since season 5, had apparently been Asmodeus’ grace-producing slave. Gabriel with the help of Sam did get his mojo back, and ended up killing Asmodeus as revenge. As well as the one who originally helped him escape heaven, Loki. But he then was killed in the final episode trying to defend Micheal from entering the tear of reality. And unfortunately it really does look like he is gone for good this time.

And as mentioned before, Lucifer finally met his end by Dean/Micheal at the end of the season. And Dean being Micheal’s vessel, it’s a lot like being dead I’m guessing.

Who’s alive?

Even though we lost a lot of people this season, we were able see a lot more. And hopefully they do get to stick around.

At the end of season 12, Castiel was killed by Lucifer, leaving everyone in a sad state, especially Dean. When Jack hears this, he calls out Castiel’s name which (somehow?) wakes Castiel from his “sleep” in a place where all Angels and Demons go when they die and manages to annoy a cosmic entity so much that it shoots him back to the real world. And the world sighed with relief.

Before Dean and Sam found out that Castiel had been brought back. Dean found himself in front of Death by his own acord with guilt of his failures. Death, which he comes to find out is now Billie, who had been killed by Castiel back in season 12 in order to get the Winchesters out of a deal they made with Billie. But, with the law, the next reaper who dies after Death, becomes the new Death. Which helps Billie see the world in a new way, and has Dean realize he needs to keep living.

Season 12 also brought the Bristish Men of Letters to life to some mixed reception. And also brought Arthur Ketch who had a romantic relationship with Mary Winchester, but was eventually killed by her at the end of the season. But it turns out he had met Rowena in the past and she gave him a to come back, should he die. He is probably one of weirder characters who is brought back.

We are not the only ones missing Crowley, as it turns out that Rowena was able to come back from her death in season 12 by Lucifer’s hands… again. As she tried to find a way to get Crowley back, but Billie tells her it wouldn’t happen. Leaving her to help the Winchester’s to help rescue those in the Alternate Universe and get her revenge on Lucifer to help her cope. As it’s also revealed that the only way Rowens dies, is by the hand of Sam Winchester.

With the angels being around since season 4, we never really would think they would be gone. But desperate times call for desperate measures as it’s revealed Naomi, who we thought was killed during season 8 by Metatron, reveals that the amount of angels is scarcely low and they need help soon or else heaven will no longer be able to sustain itself.

With the Alternate Universe, we have a lot of people come back. Including our resourceful Bobby who died in season 7, which we saw last season. And as well our favorite kick-ass lesbian, Charlie Bradbury who died in season 10. They aren’t completely the same as before, being from alternate realities and don’t have the same experiences as their counterparts with the Winchesters. But we are still glad to have them back in one form or another.

What’s about to come?

Now, the season 14 teasers didn’t give us much. But they do show that Micheal is a force to be scared of. Possibly more dangerous than Lucifer. Here are the most recent teaser:

But, between seasons is the time for stuff to eventually be brought to light. Such as the shorter length of the new season, being 20 episodes instead of the usual 23. Jensen Ackles (Dean), reveals in an interview that they wanted to give more of a break time for the actors. Which I’m sure we are all here for, here’s the interview for more detail:

And apparently Jared Padalecki (Sam) for the 2nd time in a row reveals a big spoiler for the season. After had last season accidentally revealed Castiel’s return in season 13. I will not say what this spoiler is but if you do want to know, here the video (which also has the clip of him revealing Castiel’s return):

And we know that Aneal or Jo will be returning (who happens to be played by Jensen Ackles’ wife: Daneel), we’ve seen her in some previews. That Maggie, another new-comer from last season will have a larger role to play. But mostly it’s all up in the air, in terms if things confirmed.

Jared Padalecki has said he would like Elieen, who was killed in season 12, to return. And honestly, same. He also would like his wife, who played Ruby to come back as well!

Some people are thinking that Lucifer might come back. Which is interesting.

Misha Collins (Castiel) has his kids on the show sometime in the season. Which shoud be super fun!

The 13th episode of the season will Supernatural’s 300th episode, so hopefully we can expect something special to come from that!!

I hope I was able to cover everything! What are you most excited for with this upcoming season? What might happen? Who knows! Only a few days left!! Thank you for reading! Peace bitches!
