This is where the fun begins.

Yesterday, Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers took the stage at Hall H in San Diego Comic-Con to unveil the upcoming films and series headed your way in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Demonstrating how Marvel still has a few more tricks up their sleeves, even after Avengers: Endgame surpassed Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time, here are the movies and shows we can expect to see from them in the near future.

'Black Widow' – May 1, 2020

Next year, Black Widow will finally be receiving her own standalone film. This movie is filming right now, and Scarlett Johansson will be returning to her iconic role. The film will explore her dark past, and it will be directed by Cate Shortland.

David Harbour will be joining the cast as Red Guardian, with Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff, with Taskmaster being the main villain of this movie. It will take place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' – Fall 2020

This project, which will be starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in their respective roles, is not a movie, but is instead a series that will be headed to Disney+, their upcoming streaming service.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will take place after Endgame, and will see the returns of Daniel Bruhl as Helmut Zemo and Emily VanCamp as Agent Sharon Carter.

'The Eternals' – November 6, 2020

In late 2020, Marvel will finally be giving the Eternals a stand-alone movie. This film is decked out with a star-studded cast consisting of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.

This film will be directed by Chloé Zhao.

'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' – February 12, 2021

In 2021, Marvel Studios will be releasing their first film with an Asian lead character. The movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and will star Simu Liu as the titular character with Tony Leung giving a (possibly) more comic book-accurate representation of the Mandarin than we saw in Iron Man 3.

Awkwafina (of Crazy Rich Asians and The Farewell fame) will be playing a character in this movie, and I'm pretty pumped to see how this movie will play out.

'WandaVision' – Spring 2021

Our next Disney+ series is gonna be a series centered on the characters of Wanda Maximoff (also known as Scarlet Witch) and Vision.

Despite Vision's death in Infinity War, his data remained in Wakanda, and we have yet to find out how they got a Mind Stone to power him. The show will star Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in their respective roles, and it will also star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.

'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' – May 7, 2021

The long-awaited Doctor Strange 2 will be included in this phase, with Benedict Cumberbatch returning to the role, and it will also see the return of Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Chiwetel Ejofor as Karl Mordo.

Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch will be in this film as well, and Nightmare will be featured in the film as well. The director of the first Doctor Strange, Scott Derrickson, will be returning to the director's chair for this installment, which is said to be the MCU's first horror film. Interesting.

'Loki' – Spring 2021

Some of you may recall a scene in Avengers: Endgame where Loki in 2012 is about to be arrested for his crimes, and when 2023 Tony Stark attempts to steal the Tesseract, an angry Hulk bursts open the stairwell door, hitting Tony, and causing him to drop the Tesseract.

Loki then picked up the Tesseract and vanished. This is where the series begins, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki.

'What If...?' – Summer 2020

Now, this title doesn't really give us anything solid, but from my research, this is gonna be another Disney+ series that will essentially show us what would have happened if the stories we know and love happened differently.

For example, what if Peggy Carter had taken the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers? Another episode centers on what if Loki had found Mjolnir instead of Thor? This series will contain a majority of the Avengers cast members, and I'm pretty intrigued by how this could turn out.

'Hawkeye' – Fall 2021

We've wanted a standalone movie for years, and now we're finally getting a standalone... TV series on Disney+. This series will star Jeremy Renner once again as Clint Barton, or as he's known to us, Hawkeye.

This series will take place after Endgame, and honestly, I'm not sure how great they can make this. What would have been way more interesting is a Ronin standalone TV series where we get to see what Clint was doing in the five year time jump during Endgame. THAT would have been awesome.

'Thor: Love and Thunder' – November 5, 2021

This Thor sequel makes the Thor series the longest-running standalone series in the MCU. We have Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Ragnarok, returning to this installment as writer and director.

Chris Hemsworth will portray the role of Thor again, with Tessa Thompson returning as Valkyrie, who has been confirmed to be an LGBTQ+ hero. And most notably, Natalie Portman will be returning to her role as Jane Foster for the first time since Thor: The Dark World, where her character will gain the powers of Thor.

Now, this is the only announcement that's a bit controversial, but A) it's from the comics, and B) it's incredible how all of the haters just got back from the future on their time machines that allowed them to know FOR SURE that Portman would be horrible at this. So, yeah. Have some faith.

And now, for all of the Phase 5 movies that haven't yet been given dates, but are definitely gonna happen!

'Black Panther 2'

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

Yes, this movie will be written and directed by James Gunn, after he finishes making The Suicide Squad over at DC.

'Captain Marvel 2'

'Fantastic Four'

Since Chris Evans isn't playing Captain America anymore, I would pay some good money to see him reprise his role as Johnny Storm/Human Torch after all these years.

Would that make sense? No. But would it be awesome and hilarious? Yes.

'Blade'

The MCU is gonna be rebooting the Blade series after the trilogy we already saw with Wesley Snipes as the lead character.

Blade will star Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali as the titular character, and that sounds a bit too good to be true.

'X-Men'

And finally, now that they have the rights to these characters, we should expect to see the X-Men introduced into the MCU.

I have no idea how much of it will connect to the existing X-Men movies, or who could POSSIBLY replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but if you want to get caught up on the existing X-Men films, just click here for the perfect order to watch them. Shameless plug. I know.

And that, my friends, is all of Marvel's upcoming projects. They didn't mention Avengers 5 at all during Comic-Con, but I'm fine with that. I'm glad to see Marvel making more stand-alone movies without feeling the need to set up all these different crossover movies and everything.

But how are we NOT getting a Spider-Man 3?! That's gotta be coming in Phase 5, right?! RIGHT?! WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

Anyways, that's all I have for you. What's your most anticipated film/series on this list? Let me know on Twitter. I'm @TheJonathanSim.
