All Time Best Twist Movies

There is nothing more enticing in movies than a good twist. As a movie fan, I am always on the look out for movies with twists that will blow my mind, and on my journey I have found some movies that I feel are the best movies with a twist of all time. Here is that list:

'The Sixth Sense'

When the main character finds out he is dead... you can consider that a pretty big twist. This M. Night Shamalyan twist was not only one of his most successful movies, but one of the greatest movies of all time, and it being a Shamalyan movie just means that it must also be one of the greatest twists of all time.

'The Usual Suspects'

No one expects the shy, nervous cripple to be the bad guy, especially when that bad guy is Keyser Sosai, but Kevin Spacey's character in The Usual Suspects manages to pull it off by using posters and items around the detective's room to create a story that not only tricks the detective, but every single person in the audience to only leave you surprised as the detective finds out when its too late.

'The Prestige'

This masterpiece managed to create an illusion that caught all audience members off guard. To add the combination of Nolan, Bale, Hugh Jackman, and Scarlett Johansson would have made this movie a must-watch, even without the amazing twist. The rivalry between Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman's magician characters is one so dark and mind-blowing you will have to re-watch it more than once.

'Memento'

Memento, another Nolan classic has a dark twist that will have you questioning a lot, and have you potentially rewinding the movie right away to find what was so obvious, but so hidden. It is not everyday that your hero is not only the bad guy, but a serial killer who will continuously repeat the crime without guilt, but with short-term memory in the mix, this movie is definitely one of the greatest twists of all time.

'Fight Club'

If you say that you saw it coming you are a liar. Fight Club had such a great twist that 20 years later people still cannot get over it. With constant, obvious hints hidden throughout the movie, you almost feel silly missing this amazing twist that blew the minds of everyone who watched it. To add to this, perfectly placed hints make the second and third watch a fun scavenger hunt for all movie lovers.

'Primal Fear'

Primal Fear is a hidden gem of a movie that does not get as much love and appreciation as it deserves. Edward Norton's amazing performance left us feeling nothing but empathy for his character throughout the whole movie, until the very end where the big twist was revealed. The twist being discovered at the same time as the characters is something that makes audience members feel so many emotions that they simply cannot forget this movie.

'Shutter Island'

This movie twist could not have been seen coming due to the mystery audience members are trying to solve along with our hero in this thriller taking place in an asylum, but when we discover this twist, we are left wanting more from this movie. Shutter Island is a masterpiece that will forever be remembered due to its ability to keep audiences glued to the screen, on the edge of their seats to only be left with an insane twist that played with your heart strings.
