When it comes to The CW, and anything to do with Arrow or The Flash, Stephen Amell has always had the most outspoken voice among cast on any of the DC'TV series. From his tweets to his outreach with fans, Amell continues to share small insights with his fans on what's to come in the upcoming seasons of Arrow, and even The Flash. Amell is also very well known by his fan base as a very interactive actor within social media, and is always on point when answering fan inquiries. But back to what Amell might have just revealed to us in his latest tweet.

Now, we shouldn't expect Amell to give away any real information that would spoil what's to come on Arrow or The Flash but one of his more recent tweets might have spelled out the future we've been expecting to take place; within the Arrow/Flash-verse.

What is Flashpoint leading up to? And what insight does Amell's tweet provide us in figuring Flashpoint out?

It's not a mystery that the upcoming season of The Flash and Arrow will both depict an alternate timeline, known as the Flashpoint Timeline. As a very familiar story arc from DC Comics, the Flashpoint Universe story arc stands out among other notable storylines as it is one of the only comic events to completely change the fate of the DC universe. And now that the Flashpoint story arc is set to take place mainly on The Flash, but also on Arrow, we can expect to see the progression of the Flash/Arrow-verse taking the DC'TV universe in an entirely new direction. But that new direction isn't so unknown. The direction to which I'm referring to is the foreseeable conclusion to the Flashpoint story - foretold by DC Comics.

When the Flashpoint arc has concluded on Arrow and The Flash, the DC'TV universe you've come to love will no longer be the same. The superhero universe established by The CW network is going to undergo a complete overhaul when Flashpoint concludes, due to DC Comics' foretelling a bright/new future for Arrow and The Flash.

The end of Flashpoint will see the rise of a new universe on The Flash and Arrow.

Within DC Comics, the conclusion of the Flashpoint-universe event depicted the end of a section of the multi-verse, wherein the two timelines from which Barry Allen originated from were melded together, along with another alternate Earth which had become prominent in DC Comics as Prime Earth. Once Barry Allen reset the correct timeline of events, this occurrence took place and saw the emergence of a unified Earth (Prime Earth) which combined bits and pieces from all three alternate Earths.

That same plot-thread could be explored in the upcoming seasons of The Flash and Arrow. But beyond speculating anymore on whether or not Flashpoint will conclude with the destruction of the multi-verse, and the creation of a Prime Earth in the Flash/Arrow-verse, it is Stephen Amell's latest tweet that gives us the necessary clue in predicting the future of the DC'TV universe.

In his tweet, Amell explicitly states how many versions of Oliver Queen he'll be portraying in the upcoming season of Arrow. We already expected Amell to portray two versions of Oliver Queen, one from the alternate timeline of Flashpoint and the original version of Oliver Queen established on Arrow. But then what other version of Oliver Queen could Stephen Amell be portraying on Arrow? Well, the third version of Oliver Queen (Amell) will be the unified version of Oliver Queen depicted as the complete iteration of the character - that is, once Barry Allen corrects the timeline and unifies the alternate timelines together.

Prime Earth will become the unified Earth on The Flash and Arrow, once Barry Allen corrects the timeline

Once that event occurs, the Flash/Arrow-verse which has already been established over the past four years will completely change due to the multiple timelines being merged together to create one collective universe. And within that collective universe, we'll witness the birth of a brand new Oliver Queen (Amell), as well as the recreation of Star City and every prevalent element utilized on Arrow in a manner in which we've never seen them. But what's most intriguing about the drastic change in dynamic is that an entirely new timeline will be developed for Arrow and The Flash in future seasons. Along with the versions of Oliver Queen and Barry Allen we'll see depicted on-screen becoming the only existing versions of their respective characters within the Flash/Arrow-verse. That in itself is definitely noteworthy, but another aspect of the Flash/Arrow-verse which fans may be overlooking could see some more DC Comics' events mirrored on-screen.

In the scenario of an entirely new timeline being established within the Flash/Arrow-verse, a new timeline creates the perfect opportunity to construct a universe of characters (versions of said characters) in whatever manner fits the context of upcoming seasons. Meaning that dead characters may be resurrected, old foes could become new enemies, or new friends could become welcome additions to the cast of either Arrow or The Flash. Any variety of changes could be coming to the Flash/Arrow-verse but the biggest change we can likely expect to take place, will be inclusion of Supergirl's universe into the Flash/Arrow-verse.

Could the merge of universes see Supergirl fully integrated into the DC'TV universe?

Having become the newest addition to the DC'TV universe, Supergirl has made its arrival on The CW at the perfect time. With the Flash/Arrow-verse expected to undergo an entire revamp when Flashpoint concludes, it presents the perfect opportunity for the universe of Supergirl to be fully integrated into the Flash/Arrow-verse, adding another significant amount of source material to be mixed together in the all new timeline expected to be created.

Although, we don't know for certain how the new timeline will be represented in the DC'TV universe but if DC Comics gives us any indication of where Flashpoint will lead Arrow and The Flash in upcoming seasons, then we can already assume that the new timeline created will mirror DC's New 52 universe. (Sidenote: The New 52 universe was created as a result of the merge of alternate universes; e.g. Flashpoint story arc.) Here are some of the more notable DC characters present in the Flash/Arrow-verse, but their New 52 counterparts.

New 52 counterparts of popular DC characters:

Oliver Queen

Oliver Queen, Green Arrow

Oliver Queen's New 52 iteration doesn't differ from the origin given to him on Arrow but one noticeable difference saw Oliver Queen's Team Arrow made up of completely different characters than the ones presented on Arrow, as well as the addition of Roy Harper earlier on in Oliver Queen's journey to becoming the Green Arrow than the timeline presented on Arrow.

Blood Rose & Midas

Blood Rose and Midas

One of Oliver Queen's first villain adversaries, Blood Rose and Midas were some the first villains for the Green Arrow to tackle on his own. Blood Rose was a robot made by Midas before he became a hideous monster. During a heist, Midas was caught in an explosion and inadvertently threw himself into a vat of toxic waste. The toxic waste didn't kill Midas, but it turned him into a creature made of purely toxic waste.

Naomi Singh

Naomi Singh

A hacker known to have helped Oliver Queen in his venture to become the Green Arrow. Not known on the television series of Arrow, but quite similar to the character of Felicity Smoak on Arrow. It's possible Naomi Singh will replace Felicity Smoak after Flashpoint, as the universe is expected to be overhauled.

Jax

An engineer who worked with Team Arrow in the New 52 DC Comics. His role has been minimal at best but there may be an open slate for him after Flashpoint. There'll probably be vacancies on Team Arrow when the Prime Earth universe is established which means Jax could convincingly take the place of John Diggle as backup to Oliver Queen.

Roy Harper

Roy Harper

We already know about Roy Harper as he's been a recurring character on Arrow for the past two seasons but Colton Haynes departure from the role last season may have come at an inconvenient time. With Flashpoint expected to merge Earth 1, 2, and 3, the result will introduce a completely different Roy Harper, which means Colton Haynes could return to portray Oliver Queen's superhero sidekick once again - but in more of central role as the New 52 iteration of Roy Harper becomes Arsenal quite early on in the Green Arrow's crime-fighting career.

Barry Allen

Barry Allen and Wally West

The New 52 iteration of Barry Allen doesn't very much from the version of Barry Allen portrayed Grant Gustin on The Flash, but there's one particular detail of Barry Allen's New 52 origin which could see the introduction of several other pivotal DC heroes on The Flash; including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg. During Barry Allen's first rounds as the Flash, he encountered Batman and Superman fighting in Central City. The Flash attempted to stop them but was quickly dispatched by Superman. The result of the conflict eventually resulted in the formation of the Justice League - likely, already being set up in the current DC'TV universe.

Eobard Thawne

Eobard Thawne, Professor Zoom

There's also not a lot of differences between the version of Eobard Thawne represented on The Flash and the New 52 version but one minute detail in Thawne's supervillain moniker might have spelled out how the Prime Earth version of Eobard Thawne will be presented on The Flash. In DC's New 52, Eobard Thawne isn't the Reverse Flash, he's actually Professor Zoom. That doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to The Flash but if worlds are merging in the Flash/Arrow-verse and an opportuntiy for Eobard Thawne to become someone completely different arises, then it's possible that Eobard Thawne will become the new version of Professor Zoom on The Flash.
