Shadows Guarded
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Though of course, there wasn’t always a reason for them. There was not gold, or greed, or men who swore magic flowed in their veins in place of blood. There was not always death. There was not always darkness.

Harry’s Home and the Age of the Lover
Anyone alive and conscious in the past 20 years may have noticed many distinct shifts in popular music. We moved out of 90s grunge and the last waves of what wanted to live up to 80s rock glory into truly diverse pop music. R&B swept the charts at the same time as pop ballads and bubbly melodies.

First, Opportunity
If the first movie, Danny Boyle's 1996 film based on Irvine Welsh's novel of the same name, has an iconic phrase, it's "Choose Life." If it's 2016 sequel has anything to the same effect, it is the often repeated "First an opportunity, then betrayal." That accurately summarizes the pattern of many iconic movies and their forced sequels- one of stars turned into money grab series. Despite my desire to give this article a cliched, quoted title, in this case it would be misleading. I can't associate the world betrayal with a review of this film because it's a flawless continuation.

Everyone Hates Country
If you ask someone what music they like, they might easily answer “anything but country.” Unless a person explicitly likes and often listens to country, then they probably detest it. It’s incredibly common, and I think there’s a lot of reasons why.

Killing DC HeroesTop Story - December 2018
For years people have given the "I don't want to kill people" hero mentality a lot of flack in DC comics, considering it's a type practically pioneered by Batman. It's always used in comparison to Marvel, showing how DC supers are more morally grey, or they’re cowards, etc. I think the issue is really the type of villains they face, and how that influences their stance on ever killing someone.

'Christopher Robin' Review
I will start by saying that I was raised on Winnie the Pooh stories. With that said, I’ve been looking forward to this movie since I first heard about it months ago, prepared to bawl my eyes out. I cried when I saw the trailer for the first time, if that gives you any idea of the kind of person I am. Not only do I love Winnie the Pooh, I also love Ewan McGregor, who plays a grown-up Christopher Robin in the film, so it's a film that was really just Made For Crying.

Writing Tips
As soon as we start writing, we're told all sorts of rules on the do's and don'ts of writing. The problem is, a lot of those rules are really limiting, especially if you're just a kid trying to write a story about superheroes or magic and dragons. Being told exactly how you should write and what is the most interesting way to do things means there's a clear way not to do things—except literature is subjective! Different people like different stories and different writers not just because of the stories they represent but because of writing style.
