'The Last Black Man in San Francisco'
I heard about this film from Jimmie Fails himself. I mistook it for another film that I went and auditioned for but turns out, it was for another title. I had no clue at first that this was something Jimmie was working on. Slowly it sparked my interest. As time went by, I started seeing Google posts online about the movie, having had won the Sundance Film Festival 2019 for the best film.

Marvel's 'Shang-Chi' First Asian Lead
Now that Phase 3 has ended and Spiderman: Far From Home has cleared out any missing links to Endgame, we can finally seek what's next on the Marvel List. The list of films goes on as they tackle titles such as Black Panther 2, Dr. Strange 2, The Eternals, and even a future Riri Williams (Iron Heart), the next in line to be Iron Man. Hate to love it, but it really looks like Marvel is pushing the massive diversity within the next Avengers. But, there is one particular film that has been announced that'll change the levels of history for Marvel and those who have grown up with Marvel comics and the films. After 12 years, starting with the 2008 Iron Man, they will finally introduce Shang Chi, the first Asian lead to take the major screen for Marvel and the first Marvel film to have majority Asian talents, as to Black Panther how was. Shang Chi is known as the "Master of Kung Fu," a Chinese Marvel character known for his ability to master Kung Fu and a weaponry-based wushu style, also declaring his ability to duplicate himself. Shang Chi later becomes an Avenger and part of The Agents of Atlas.

'Spiderman: Far From Home' Just Introduced the Phase 4? X-Men
Spoiler Alert Ahead! For those who had the chance to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home, I personally thought it was a great way to bridge the unanswered questions from Avengers: Endgame. What happened to those who came back from the snap, and what happens afterward. I won't break down the whole movie or the significance of those who returned, because there really wasn't any significance to those who returned from the snap. To get to the point, overall the movie stayed true to who Peter Parker was from the comics facing his everyday issues as a high school student would. It was like a romantic teen flick, only with an evil villain, a psychedelic trip, and somewhat of a confusing plot. Mysterio was Jake Gyllenhaal. That's about it. I have always had this love-hate relationship to whom Mysterio is in the comics. Although, I just didn't feel all too connected to him, and I love villains. At times I get excited when they reference a certain Easter egg that may give foreshadowing to the next phase, but within this movie, it just seemed those ideas were placebos. I found myself on the edge of the seat, then slowly sinking back to my seat. Spiderman: Far From Home was an overall good movie. I did get a kick to a number of Easter Eggs, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat. It was a great bridge to begin the next Phase.

Jade, The Method Actor
I have had arguments and debates with other fellow Actors behind the scenes about Method Acting. Method Acting was the first style of Acting I picked up freshman in college. I read books from Stella Adler to Uta Hagen. As I grasp certain methods and teachings, I come to find myself grasping the idea of Methods, but I just felt it wasn't a natural or genuine process. Then I came to fully understand the concept of it; what Method acting to me is. A system to construct an emotional foundation built within your personal experiences to develop a character, or yourself.

The Sacrifice for Acting
Becoming an actor in this day and age is difficult. Not everyone will get it and perceive you as not thinking "practical." Who in their right mind wants to do it? I love a challenge and I tell myself, as long as I know I choose not to stop, I'll be fine. But what cost does it have on my lifestyle?

Should Actors Get Tattoos
"Think twice before you get that tattoo!" I was told many times. I was also told that I would never get any casting if I had any tattoos. It was very discouraging hearing this from close friends or fellow colleagues. But, they were wrong. My advice is, if you do hear such a thing, ignore their words. Your mission in your acting career is to find where you stand as an individual and what work you are going for. For years I have feared that my tattoos would only get in the way of castings. For a time being, they were. It was just extra work they had to do to cover them up or adjust fittings to cover them up. Then I realized that maybe I was going into work I just wasn't comfortable doing. I needed to find castings that will appreciate my canvas alongside my performance. Although, this was challenging. Auditions rarely ask for talent with existing tattoos, but it never stopped me from being an actor.

God of the PS4
"BOY!" was a word I disliked throughout my life. It just sounded super degrading. BUT! when Kratos says it. It just makes more sense. God of War 4 is a game with not only great cinematics and brutal action sequences. It has a great story of father and son relationship. It was so great, I had to play the second round on New Game+. The experience became more "Godly," you can say. Playing New Game+ allows you to carry all of what you earned from the last gameplay, all the way back to the start of the game. Now, this may sound stressful, but trust me, it's worth it. I found my self wanting, even more, to achieve better stats and armor. Completing difficult quests and battles. This isn't the purpose of maybe why I wanted to take on playing it again. I already knew what was going to happen, but I didn't forget, Kratos and Atreus are Gods. To be honest, I didn't feel that on the first round of gameplay.

Chapter 1: The Beginning of a Tatted Asian Actor
What are you thinking? That question seems to fly around freely in most of our parent's or friend's mouth. Especially from a family that is Asian, Filipino to be exact. What am I thinking? To want to become an actor. Why not a nurse, a banker, or lawyer, as my future was already set for me. To those Filipino families or even if you take notices when going to hospitals, you know what I'm talking about.
