An Introduction To 'The Town That Dreaded Sundown'
I discovered The Town That Dreaded Sundown two years ago, and since then it’s become a staple on my proverbial Halloween dinner table. I was introduced to writer and director Charles B. Pierce thanks to Mystery Science Theater 3000 and a special little film called Boggy Creek II: And The Legend Continues. Pierce, of course, also directed Boggy Creek I, but I haven’t gotten around to seeing that one yet. He also directed and wrote The Town That Dreaded Sundown, which, if you’ve seen Boggy Creek II, will throw you for a bit of a loop. Because while--despite my love for it--Boggy Creek II isn’t a good film, per se, The Town That Dreaded Sundown is, in its own right. At least, I remember it being good.

UNDERRATED: Carnivale
Carnivale is a show that takes me in its old, gnarled hands and shakes me down to my core. It always has, and it always will, no matter how many times I watch it. Carnivale did great things, but it could’ve done much more if it had been allowed to continue, if it had gotten the ratings it needed for HBO to let it live.

On Finishing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
As of about a month ago, I can officially say I finished The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Except for some undiscovered places in Skellige, I’ve seen basically everything. At least, I’ve done all the quests available in each location. Okay, so I haven’t been everywhere, but I 100% completed the DLC, and I’ve done basically every quest in the main game, not including the Gwent quests and some horse races.

UNDERRATED: Helix
Every once in a while, some form of media comes along that grips me so completely that I never stop talking about it ever, to the disdain of anyone who’s ever had to listen to me. Sometimes it’s a book, sometimes it’s a movie, but mostly it’s television, and mostly it’s television that’s been cancelled after one or two seasons.

Fallout 3 vs. Fallout 4: First-Time Experiences
For me, starting something new is always intimidating, and starting a new open world game is intimidating turned up to eleven. There are so many things to do, so many places to go, that I feel like I have to look behind every rock lest I miss something important.

The Party Lasagna Chronicles
I've made approximately four lasagnas in my life that I can recall: one for Thanksgiving, one just because, and two to take to a college party. Think: your friend's apartment full of people you work and go to school with, craft beer bottles on every available surface (because you're all millennials), vodka bottles the size of Stanley Cups, Ring Of Fire, etc, etc. Your typical party for anyone ages 21 to 25, and I brought two lasagnas instead of, say, a bag of chips.

The Signs as Dana Scully's Season One Outfits
Aries The Snow Bunny (Episode 8, “Ice”) As the flagship of this analysis, this look is for an adventurous, confident, enthusiastic, responsible, and caring leader. The Snow Bunny is ready for action, sensible yet stylish, as seen in the fur hood and color coordinated accessories. Here’s a look that says, loud and clear, “Which way to the laboratory?” This outfit is direct, candid, and ready to get things started; guaranteed, the Snow Bunny has several pairs of socks and some long johns under that jacket.
