Celebrated geek culture icons kick off the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con.

The 2017 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is finally here!

Hundreds of thousands of pop culture aficionados are expected to congregate to San Diego to celebrate the best of comics, movies, television, and anime at the San Diego Convention Center.

In this special four-part series, GEEKS highlight the panels that true pop culture fans should have on their planner when they visit the convention.

Without further ado, here are the Thursday panels:

Anything Goes with John Barrowman (Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront; 11 to 11:50 AM)

Thanks to his appearances on Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Sir John Barrowman has become one of geek culture’s greatest icons! The celebrated actor will take his outrageously hilarious one-man-show to the Indigo Ballroom’s stage. Remember fans; Sir John Barrowman has stated that “anything goes,” so prepare for some fun and excitement.

Spotlight on Gail Simone (Room 8; 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM)

Over the past 16 years, Gail Simone has written countless titles including Action Comics, Birds of Prey, Deadpool, Red Sonja, Secret Six, Welcome to Tranquility, and Wonder Woman. She has also inspired many female creators to get into the industry. As one of this year’s Spotlight Guests, fans will learn more about Ms. Simone’s career in the comic book industry at a special event where no questions are barred.

Teen Wolf (Hall H; 2 to 3 PM)

MTV’s hit horror drama, Teen Wolf, is about to air its second half of Season Six before going off the air at the end of the season. To commemorate the last season, Teen Wolf’s cast and creators will share some of their favorite memories at this special panel. Also, keep an eye out for certain returning cast members who might just crash Hall H.

DC Universe Original Movies: 10th Anniversary (Room 6BCF; 2:15 to 3:15 PM)

If you are not into werewolves, fans should head to Room 6BCF to celebrate DC Universe Original Movies’ huge milestone. Throughout the past ten years, this animated film franchise has released over 30 feature length films and five animated shorts that were based on the classic DC Comics storylines. Franchise architects Bruce Timm, James Tucker, and Alan Burnett will join an all-star group of voice actors including Kevin Conroy, Tara Strong, John DiMaggio, Vanessa Marshall, and Christopher Gorham to reflect on the franchise.

Robert Kirkman: In Conversation (Room 6A; 3 to 4 PM)

Over the past few years, Robert Kirkman has skyrocketed into one of the most recognizable comic book creators of this millennium. The creator of The Walking Dead, Invincible, and Outcast will be on hand to talk to fans about his work and reveal more information about Invincible’s upcoming silver screen adventure.

DC: Geoff Johns (Room 6DE; 3:15 to 4:15 PM)

Geoff Johns has changed the DC Universe for the better. After creating blockbuster storylines such as Blackest Night, Brightest Day, 52, Flashpoint, Forever Evil, Infinite Crisis, and “The Sinestro Corps War,” Mr. Johns was promoted to be the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment. As the Chief Creative Officer, Mr. Johns assisted getting shows such as Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on the CW and helped bring the Justice League to the big screen. The celebrated comic book creator is expected to answer fans’ questions and reveal crucial information about “The Doomsday Clock,” which marks his return to the comic book world at this cannot miss panel.

Marvel Television's Marvel's Inhumans (Ballroom 20; 6:15 to 7:15 PM)

End day one of your 2017 SDCC experience by attending the world premiere of the first two episodes of Marvel’s Inhumans. Join executive producer Jeph Loeb for a special sneak peek into the latest group of superheroes to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Inhumans! SDCC convention goers will be the first fans to see the footage before it premieres in IMAX theaters nationwide!
