My Personal List of TV Shows That I Need to Watch When I'm Sad

(This is my personal opinion. I still have to watch loads more TV shows, but so far, this is my thought on comedy TV shows.)

We all get sad from time to time, and I think the best thing to do when you feel that way is...TV shows! Obviously for me, the best kind would be comedy, so this is my list of TV shows to watch:

'F.R.I.E.N.D.S.'

  • I will obviously start with my first TV show ever that I've watched like 15 times... I'm talking about F.R.I.E.N.D.S.! This was like my first love; you know, the one you'll never forget, and I never will. It's still very famous, and most importantly, it's funny. I feel like it cures me when I watch it.

'The Office'

  • It took me years to finally watch this masterpiece, but since the first time I watched, I fell in love! There's humor, there's love, there's friendship; it's where everyone would want to work. Can you imagine Michael Scott as your boss?

'How I Met Your Mother'

  • How I Met Your Mother is just an amazing TV show. There are some things I didn't really like about it, like sometimes they would not be consistent—they said that Ted, Marshall, and Lily lived for a couple weeks just with the old beanbag in the apartment (S8), but before they said that, Lily had her own apartment (S2) (this is an example, but they did it more than once, same as other TV shows). The ending was bad/good. I always have shipped Ted and Robin, so I was happy for them to be together, but I was so sad about Tracy dying. I've watched HIMYM loads of times when I was sad—mostly season two...that is my favourite!

'The Mindy Project'

  • Another masterpiece, maybe because it was produced by Mindy Kaling, AKA producer of many episodes of The Office. Hell, yeah! Mindy Kaling is a genius. This TV show, I think it's for all those girls who dream about finding their love, but it makes it so fun! All her boyfriends, all her fails, all her outfits are absolutely STUNNING, and Morgan—let's talk about the sweetest nurse in the world—he's so dorky but OMG, I wanna have a friend like him! Loved the ending with my fav OTP and yeah, that's it. Everyone go and watch it cause it is a m a z i n g.

'New Girl'

  • And here we are with our beautiful Jessica Day! With those beautiful big blue eyes, she made us fall in love with her singing, outfits, and with her, in general. I didn't particularly like the episodes where she wasn't there, but they made it up with the amazing finale of season 6. I can't wait for season 7 to happen!

'The Middle'

  • A normal family trying to get through everything in life. I think this is one of the most real TV shows. They took problems that millions of families have every day and made it into a TV show that, sadly, will be over at the end of season 9. I've watched this season just before season 3 came out and I'm so sad when I think it will be over so soon.

'Modern Family'

  • The amazing Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker family is one of the funniest and sweetest you'll ever see. I fell in love with this TV show years ago and I still can't believe how good it is. Every episode is good, every character is different from the other, but they make it impossible to not love it.

'One Day at a Time'

  • I really was surprised by this TV show. Watching the first episode, I wasn't really convinced about it, but then I kept watching without stopping. Let's just say this is not like other comedy series. They talk about real problems and they try to make it less heavy. Like they talk about sexuality, religion, depression, sickness, and immigration in ways that you want to hear, and it's amazing how they managed to do it. I was really impressed, like when they had the episode about Penelope's depression—I loved the way they were showing it so well. I was seeing myself in her cause I know the feeling. I couldn't stop crying about it. Her acting was flawless.

I feel like, after this kind of review, you would think that this is not a comedy series, but it is—all the episodes are really funny and it's not "heavy."

'Family Guy'

  • OOOOOOH, the one and only Griffin family. I don't have much to say about this series. Everyone knows it's funny, everyone knows it's also kinda dirty. This is an amazing TV show to watch when you are sad. It will make you laugh so much and forget about the bad things.

So there you have it—My favourite comedy shows to watch when I'm feeling sad.
