In a world where movies like The Hunger Games and The Purge seem to be coming to life, and episodes of The Simpsons are predicting our future, sometimes it feels as though there is little happiness left to be found. Yet, at times like this, solace can be found in the strangest of places — especially if you are #BillyBobThornton. Despite everything going on at the moment, his life sounds like it is all sunshine and sugar lumps thanks to a bunch of rainbow painted, glitter breathing pals. Yup, the 61-year-old actor/director has unveiled himself as a closet #MyLittlePony fan — and the revelation is giving us life.

In a recent interview with GQ, Angelina Jolie's former flame came out as a loud and proud Brony — a.k.a A man who shares an affinity with the magical horses. This is the second Bronification of recent times, as Thornton also joins Suicide Squad's Captain Boomerang as an equine enthusiast.

Adults watch cartoons, too.

Thornton says that his love of the franchise comes from watching the old cartoons with his daughter, and admitted that they still indulge in the fourth generation (teen-friendly) My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic series.

Thornton even went into great detail about his favorite story arc from the recent run of episodes, which turns out to be one in which every pony finds that their "cutie marks" have been replaced an equal sign. Warning: long-winded pony story coming:

“This was amazing because the Mane Six ponies, who are the stars of the show, they go out there because Celestia, who runs Equestria, she will tell Twilight Sparkle she needs to go somewhere, but she doesn't tell her why. So anyway, suddenly they get captured by them and told that they have to remove their cutie marks and get equal signs. But they said, you know what? No. So Fluttershy, who is my favorite because she kind of talks like Marilyn Monroe, says, ‘Oh, yes.’ Fluttershy acts like she wants to become a member, you know? And so they give her the cutie-mark equal-sign stamp and everything. And then she notices something, like it rains, and it washes off Starlight Glimmer's equal sign, and she's got her own cutie mark. So she's like a Jim Jones cult, you know, right?”

If a My Little Pony explanation from the Fargo actor doesn't give you a broner, nothing will, but at least we know what to get this bad Santa for christmas now!

These bros ain't loyal.

Bronies are a craze sweeping the world, and the franchise has come a long way since the first Hasbro toys were produced in 1981 — it grew into a 1986 TV series, the reimagined 2010 series, and four generations of the toy line. The 2012 documentary Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony highlighted that it is a case of Bronies before homies, and the fans even have their own convention called BronyCon.

Growing from just 100 attendees in 2011, now over 10,000 people head to the world's largest My Little Pony extravaganza weekend every year. Who knows, you might even spot some celebrity faces there.

Billy Bob isn't alone in his cause, other confirmed celebrity Bronies are Xavier Woods, Dolph Ziggler, and William Shatner. Well guys, whatever floats your boat!
