From the creators of Fairy Tail comes Black Clover. It's a story about two orphaned boys, Asta and Yuno. Asta is a physically powerful person that has an amazing willpower, but is a sweet guy at heart, but he has no magical powers. Yuno is a soft spoken boy who always knows what to say, and his magical prowess is off the charts, so much so that he receives the sought after Four Leaf Clover Grimoire.

They both make the decision to become the next wizard king and go to the city to become part of a wizard squad. As expected, Yuno gets put in the best squad, and Asta, even though he has no magical power, he still has a Grimoire that blesses him with a powerful sword at his will, The Black Clover. So he gets stuck with the messiest, rag tag squad, The Black Bulls.

With only eight episodes in, this series is bound to capture your attention. There is humor, action, relationships, rivalries, and much more. It definitely has a Fairy Tail vibe. The squad goes on missions to protect the villages and there are different squads around the country. If it doesn't scream Fairy Tail, I don't know what does. There is also a proud girl protagonist, who has her own self confident issues in her magic, and a boy protagonist who has the potential to be a powerful wizard. So, if you liked that anime, go find this anime.

It is on Funimation, if you have an account there, which I am suggesting that you get one because they have added a lot of new anime, which will be featured on my next article, so look out for. Tom Speelman described the show as "what if Harry Potter was a knight and also kinda dumb?" Which I think is hilarious. I love that he uses Harry Potter as an example, one because I love Harry Potter, and two that he is a character that almost anyone can relate to. And if you are a fan of Fairy Tail, Naruto, and Bleach, then this is the show for you. Which I love all those series and I'm watching Black Clover and I am captivated by the series already.

The only thing is that this anime has been only about Asta's development as a character. We see some troubles happening with Yuno and that in itself could prove to be a very interesting side story, which I hope the creators write him in more and show his character development.

I realize that there needs to be a backbone and there needs to be a storyline to follow first, but I can't wait for all the side stories that we will see. I hate fillers, but I love the episodes that give the characters emotion and a story that make them more relatable. We don't know much about the other characters, so expect more plot twists and more character development to come.

The other characters involved have very interesting dynamics, but something that I would suspect. A character who is gluttonous, lustful, sloth like, angry, prideful, greedy, and envious. So in other words, characters from almost any anime ever, but they make it interesting and complex.

If you are interested in more than just the anime, it is a Manga that is written by Yuki Tabata. The first three chapters are on Weekly Shonen Jump per Viz Media and the series in on track to join the weekly lineup.

I don't want to spoil it, so I won't say more, but even if you are skeptical you should at least one watch the first four episodes and see what that does for your anime fix.
