The first trailer for the film, The Big Short, just dropped and it looks incredible. The Big Short is based on the non-fiction book by financial journalist Michael Lewis. Lewis has given is a few other notable books-to-film including Moneyball (also starring Brad Pitt), The Blind Side & the also upcoming Liar's Poker.

The Big Short follows the story of four men (portrayed by Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling) who collectively decide to bet against the odds when they saw the impending collapse of the economy and they wound up winning big. The movie takes these men into the dark and twisted inner workings of modern banking.

These four men were considered on the outside of the banking world, but when they saw what was bound to happen and tried to bring it to the attention of the big banks, the media and the government they were snubbed and pushed off into obscurity, at least until they won big. This movie brings to light the growing tension between the lower and middle-class Americans who are tired of the growing gap between them and the one-percenters. The Big Short looks to jump head first into a political climate and shows the unprivileged fighting back against the system.
