Fire up those dragons, because it is Game of Thrones time again. As viewers still attempt to recover from the "lit" episode that was Season 7's "The Spoils of War," fans of HBO's sprawling saga are still trying to figure out who made it off that field of fire alive. Time has presumably run out for another big name this time, and among the possible casualties is Jerome Flynn's sticky sellsword Bronn.

Since gracing our screens in the show's first season, we have seen Bronn become a fan-favorite on the show and remain loyal to those Lannister brothers. However, while Bronn may currently be in the pocket of Jaime "Kingslayer" Lannister, let's not forget Bronn's bromance with little Lord Tyrion.

Bronn In 60 Seconds

With a trip to Dorne and promises of a castle, Bronn and Jaime's pairing has become one of the best ever on the show. Alongside Arya and the Hound or Brienne and Pod, Bronn and Jaime make quite the double act. However, speaking to HBO's Making Game of Thrones, Flynn spoke about Bronn's recent act of selflessness as he pushed Jaime Lannister out of the way of a flame-spitting Drogon the Dragon. Bronn may seem to have become the hero of the hour, but it seems he is only focused on those dollar signs in his eyes:

"His personal stake is there, in that that’s where his debts lie his dream-future is in Jaime’s hands. And that's what motivates him in the episode. The relationship he has is with Jaime, and he knows there's enough loyalty there to be rewarded quite handsomely in gold. He's looking out for himself."

It is expected that Jaime will survive his watery grave, but his relationship with Bronn may be more than a little singed if they both survive:

"There’s an element of frustration in terms of how he’s being used. Jaime is talking about Bronn as if he’s his right-hand man with this elevated status, but Bronn is still getting tasked with dirty work. Bronn even tells him to go back to King’s Landing, but he sticks around and then makes Bronn basically go on a death run; it pisses Bronn off. Nobody’s going to be happy to be told to ride through that battlefield with the dragon ahead."

While Flynn doesn't reveal whether "The Spoils of War" ended with a barbecued Bronn, he did tell us whose side he is really on:

"He doesn’t have total disregard for Jaime, but he has a bond with Tyrion that’s hard for him to ignore. And the connection they’ve made with their sense of humor. If Bronn’s got a fondness for anybody in the world, I’d say Tyrion is probably close up there. He sees him as an underdog like himself."

The trailer for the upcoming "Eastwatch" sees Queen Daenerys Targaryen forcing the surviving Lannister forces to bend the knee or face death, and you can bet that if Bronn is there, he will be hopping over to Team Dany. That being said, a shot of a concerned-looking Tyrion Lannister also teases that Bronn has breathed his last. All will become clear when "Eastwatch" airs on August 13.
