In the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, we get to see Spider-Man in action, as well as Iron Man flying in to save the day. And while those scenes were highlights, the trailer had much more to offer. It also gave us a look at some cool new gadgets in #SpiderManHomecoming.
Out of all the new tech glimpsed in the trailer, the Spider-Tracer is definitely the coolest gadget revealed. Our first glimpse at the Spider-Tracer comes in the first few moments of the trailer.
As we can see, Spider-Man's mini-tracer is compacted into the Spider insignia on the center of his suit. In the comics, Spider-Man uses his Spider-Sense to tap into the frequency carried by his tracers to find the location of whomever he's tracking. It'e likely that we'll see Spider-Man using them to track one of the movie's many villains. It may be conjecture at the moment, but Spider-Man will probably use his tracers to locate Shocker or Vulture.
Being the main antagonists of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Vulture and Shocker are probably going to spend quite a bit of time on the run or in hiding, so what better way to find their location than to use the Spider-Tracers we just saw in the trailer?
Iron Man's New Suit
Aside from Spider-Man's tracers being revealed, the trailer also provided us with our first good look at Iron Man's new suit. The image is only visible in a split-second screenshot (from a sideways angle at that) but the image is decent enough to see some details of the new suit #IronMan has created.
The new Iron Man suit shares some similarities with his suit from Captain America: Civil War, only this suit has more silver tones in its color scheme. Unlike Stark's preferred gold and red paint job, he's decided to give his newest suit a slick silver coating on the lower torso.
The new paint job on Iron Man's suit is somewhat similar to the Ultimates version of Iron Man, which could mean elements from the Ultimates universe from Marvel comics play into Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Parker's Unfinished Science Project
In another split-second screenshot, we can see Peter Parker and Ned Leeds working on some kind of science project. The camera is too far away to tell exactly what they're working on, but hopefully it turns out to be another cool gadget for Spider-Man to use when stopping supervillains.
Spider-Man's Holographic Image of New York City
The last gadget we should talk about is Spider-Man's holographic display of New York City. In the image below Ned Leeds is wearing Spider-Man's mask after asking Peter to wear the suit. Ned also has one of Peter's web-shooters / gauntlets, which appears to have an internal map of New York.
The holographic display in the web-shooters reminds us that, in the post-credits scene of Captain America: Civil War, his shooter featured a similar function. This probably means Spidey's new gauntlets serve more functions than merely shooting webs at criminals.
Nonetheless, it'll be interesting to see what other toys Tony Stark packed into Spidey's new web-shooters, since it's Stark who gives Peter Parker his new suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
That's All the New Tech Introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming
For now, those are all the new gadgets we know are being introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Though, we should expect more tech to be unveiled; after all, there are three genius inventors in the movie.
Tony Stark, Peter Parker, and Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture all possess genius-level intellect, and pairing that detail with their penchant for creating new tech and gadgets, they'll probably develop more cool gadgets in the movie.
