We're back off to bonnie wee Scotland for another trip down memory lane. A mere 20 years after #Trainspotting became a cult phenomenon, director #DannyBoyle is back to shove our head down the loo again with #T2!

Now, this isn't your typical cash-in sequel, ALL the original cast comprising of Renton, Spud, Sick Boy, Begbie, and Diane are back to reprise their roles and embody the dregs of Scottish society. Although life seems to have changed for the better, at least for some of them.

So, what has the past 20 years taught our heroin-loving friends? They have updated the classic mantra of "choose life, choose a job..." with a Snapchat ready hook for millennials:

“Choose life, choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares.”

With references to revenge porn, slut shaming, and your two-hour commute, let's look at some of the best bits from the trailer for Boyle's Scottish saga.

The boys are back in town.

Love it or hate it, Trainspotting 2 will undoubtedly constantly be referencing the fact that it has been off our screens for two decades. #EwanMcGregor's "Rent Boy" and Jonny Lee Miller's "Sick Boy" don't really look like they have aged a day, and it is like the pair have never been apart.

Hello Simon.

Is that you under there Robert? Long gone are the days of playing a Bond villain, or being chased by zombies around London. Robert Carlyle is also back as psychopathic Begbie and, having spent some time inside after the events of the first film, Begbie is sure to be causing more trouble this time around.

Going on a trip.

Like the infamous toilet scene from the original, it looks like Danny Boyle's directorial vision will once again be messing with our heads. Trips, falls, and a wild ride, it won't be long before the boys are back to their old ways with substance abuse. I don't fancy filming that high-rise stunt though.

The Beautiful Game

More Boyle-esque scenes of madness. We see the boys showing their appreciation for the beautiful game. Not sure how you get it to rain inside someone's flat — but it is Scotland after all.

A Violent End

It isn't all sunshine and heroine though, and the film will still have the violent undercurrent of the first film. Though the trailer may be an unreliable narrator, the way in which it cuts scenes together indicates that at least one member of the cast could meet a grim demise.

Choose life.

But most of all, at least for a brief period, it looks like the boys take their own advice and choose life. What better way to showcase the beautiful Scottish countryside? Some things never change eh!

In a world of Legally Blonde 12, Saw 23, and Not So Fast, Not So Furious, Trainspotting 2 is exactly the kind of sequel we need. Gritty, depressing, but a right good laugh. Based off Irvine Welsh's sequel novel Porno, Trainspotting 2 promises to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. Robert Carlyle praised John Hodge's script, and said that T2:

"Is going to be quite emotional for people. Because the film sort of tells you to think about yourself. You are going to be thinking: 'Fuck. What have I done with my life?'"

For those who don't want to hear a bunch of middle-aged men talk about when they were small-time drug barons, you might as well turn off now. For the rest of us, it looks bloody brilliant.
