LEGO blocks have always been popular, and in the past couple of decades, they've become more than just a toy. Today, they are collectibles, a movie franchise, a video game franchise, a way to bond with kids, and more.

Today, LEGO sets are considered to be as collectible as Barbies, and that means that many different franchises have begun to team up with the toy line to make their own awesome sets.

Most people are well aware of the collaborations LEGO has done with big names like Star Wars, The Simpsons, and TheBig Bang Theory. But, as cool as some of those chain collaborations have been, they are nothing compared to the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets out there.

Guardians of The Galaxy: The Milano Spaceship Rescue

One of the newest groups of Marvel Superheroes to hit the silver screen are the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket Racoon, Groot, and the others have struck a nerve with fans for being awesome do-gooders while also maintaining their outlaw swagger.

Their fans (rightfully) think they are one of the coolest new superhero squads to get the Marvel movie treatment. Obviously, that means at least one of the LEGO sets on this list would end up being one of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets.

Guardians Of The Galaxy: The Milano Spaceship Rescue set lets you build the Milano spaceship and collect a number of pretty fun LEGO figurines. Among those included are Gamora, Drax, and Ronan — all of which are totally exclusive to this set. Considering the Drax figurine, it's safe to say that this set's also going to end up being a majorly collectible LEGO kit in the future.

Avengers Quinjet Aerial Battle

One of the easiest ways to make it to any list of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets is to involve a bunch of popular superheroes all fighting on custom gear.

Considering the sheer number of movies, books, and shows that feature the Avengers crowd, it's really not surprising that the LEGO collaborations with them are so popular. TheAvengers Quinjet Aerial Battle gives you the ability to build the infamous Quinjet, check out Loki's LEGO chariot, and also take a look at fun Avengers gear.

At around 735 pieces, this LEGO set is definitely a decent size. The Quinjet aspect also pays homage to Marvel comics fans. For geeks and LEGO fiends, it's not hard to see why this is one of the coolest Marvel superheroes LEGO sets currently on the market.

Spider-Man Movie: The Final Showdown

When Spider-Man came out to movie theaters, it was a smash hit. Nothing was quite as riveting as watching Spider-Man battle the Green Goblin. LEGO wisely decided that it would be just as cool to see the showdown happen in the legoverse. The end result was one of the coolest Marvel superheroes LEGO sets ever made.

The Spider-Man Movie: The Final Showdown LEGO set has all the pieces necessary to see the full stage of the final showdown in all its glory — complete with a replica of the Queensboro Bridge, the Goblin Glider, and of course, a LEGO version of Spider-Man, Mary Jane, and the Goblin himself.

At around 355 pieces in this kit, it's not one of the larger sets on the market. Even so, most regard it as a collectible LEGO set worthy of any Marvel comics fan.

The Avenjet Space Mission

If you're tired of seeing Marvel comics' LEGO sets that almost exclusively cater to movie franchises, then the Avenjet Space Mission LEGO set will be one of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets you'll ever see.

This LEGO set is all about bringing some of the more comics-oriented characters to the forefront. The set allows you to make the Avengers jet so that you can travel off to space to defeat Thanos. The Avenjet comes with fully openable cockpit, two stud shooters, an openable hatch, and more.

What really makes this one neat is how many character pieces you get that aren't featured in movies. Other character mini figure pieces you get include the rarely seen in movies Thanos, Captain Marvel, and Hyperion. Of course, you also get Thor and Captain America, but still — it's refreshing to see new faces.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of the most popular Marvel-based television series currently airing, and to a point, that means that a LEGO collaboration was bound to happen. The end result was an incredible Helicarrier that gives you plenty of space to reenact different S.H.I.E.L.D. scenes.

Besides the obvious Helicarrier, this dandy LEGO set also comes with small scale Quinjets, fighter jets, trucks, runways, blockades, and mini figurines of a number of favorite Marvel characters.

Along with being one of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets ever made, it also happens to be one of the largest LEGO sets ever based on a comic book series. With almost 3,000 different individual pieces, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier will give you hours of LEGO-building fun.

Hopefully, we don't need to tell you that this is a highly coveted collector's item, too.

Ayesha's Revenge

Yet another Guardians of the Galaxy movie meant that there needed to be more LEGO sets devoted to the gang. This time, Ayesha is attacking, and it's up to the Guardians and their Laser Drill spaceship to save the day.

If you want one of the newer Marvel comics LEGO sets on the market, then you're going to love Ayesha's Revenge. It's one of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets to be released in recent times — and at 323 pieces, there's plenty of fun to be had.

Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum

Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum is one of the coolest Marvel Superheroes LEGO sets ever — simply because it looks so awesomely steampunk! If you're a fan of Doctor Strange, or if you just love the idea of building a fantastic lab filled with strange stuff, this is a LEGO set you need to have.

There's a little bit of Lovecraftian fun in this one, thanks to the inclusion of a random, tentacled portal monster as part of the decor. But, that's not all you get. Folks who are lucky enough to snag this LEGO set also get figurines of Doctor Strange, Karl Modo, and the Ancient One, too.
