Could THAT Villain Be in Spider-Man: Homecoming?

There are already a ton of rumors surrounding Spider-Man: Homecoming, including Michael Keaton being eyed for the role of Vulture. As much as I can imagine that being a great choice, I was hoping we wouldn't see another guy with mechanical wings (a la Falcon).

There are already a ton of rumors surrounding Spider-Man: Homecoming, including Michael Keaton being eyed for the role of Vulture. As much as I can imagine that being a great choice, I was hoping we wouldn't see another guy with mechanical wings (a la Falcon). Those of you that are following me know how much I love speculating on future villains for the MCU and Spider-man, so how could I pass up another opportunity?

With Kevin Feige stating in a recent interview that they'd be tapping an unused baddie for Spidey, I thought I'd discuss which villains I'd like to see in Spider-Man: Homecoming (seemingly replacing the role of The Lizard from the comic storyline).

The Wrecking Crew

I highly doubt this will be happening, but involving The Wrecking Crew in Spider-man's first venture in the MCU would be a cool move for three reasons. First, he's a young hero still learning the ropes, so having a group of what some may consider lesser villains would be a good stepping stone into the larger Cinematic Universe. Secondly, you could have connections to some of the other Avengers through The Wrecking Crew, specifically Thor, through a sort of accidental villain creation (maybe even a connection to Thor: Ragnarok?). Third, they become members of the Masters of Evil (which I've predicted for Phase 4).

Kingpin

This has an even less likely chance of happening, but I would pay so much money to see Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin crossover to the big screen (showing the obvious connection that the Netflix series has to the MCU). I will continue to keep my fingers crossed, however, because The Defenders are rumored to be coming to Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, so why couldn't The Kingpin do the same?

Chameleon

With the ability to imitate faces and voices, sneaky doesn't even begin to describe the Chameleon. Seeing him portrayed on the big screen would be an incredible endeavor for Marvel to truly show why Spidey is home.

Kraven the Hunter

Sergei Kravinoff, also known as Kraven, became one of the world's greatest hunters, but it began to bore him. Kraven's associate (later revealed to be his half-brother, Dmitri Smerdyakov, a.k.a. Chameleon) proposed that he hunt Spider-Man, thus giving Kraven new purpose in life. He also has some connection to White Tiger, which could be a new addition to the Avengers in the future... I still stand by my prediction of Zendaya being White Tiger.

Mysterio

Just your typical former Hollywood special effects designer and stunt man who became a technology-based criminal and one of Spider-Man's more frequent villains. This is a villain that has to come to life in the MCU at some point. Not only is he a fantastic villain, but he is one of Spider-Man's earliest foes in the comics, so if we're going with a younger Peter Parker wouldn't that make sense? Also, I wouldn't complain if the rumored Michael Keaton talks gave us Mysterio as acted by Keaton.

Granted, I would love to see Venom done right someday, but I doubt we'll see that anytime soon (particularly if Sony moves forward with the Venom movie).
