After the first season of Stranger Things hit Netflix and attained a cult following, almost immediately, the entire cast was swarmed by the media, asking every question one could think to ask of a widely known actor. One of the cast members who received more attention than others, was that of David Harbour.

Harbour is known for his other various supporting roles in films like The Equalizer, Suicide Squad, and Quantum Of Solace. But when it came to Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers recruited Harbour for a starring role in the series. It isn't that surprising when considering the caliber actor David Harbour is. He wasn't known for many of his supporting roles before Stranger Things, but his presence is definitely being acknowledged after his performance in the hit Netflix series. And although Harbour's career status is rising after his portrayal of Chief Hopper on Stranger Things, it would surprise you to know that David Harbour initially auditioned for a very different role in the series.

David Harbour didn't audition for the role of Eleven. In the latest Funny Or Die skit to feature actor and, apparently, comedian David Harbour, a DVD extra for Season One of Stranger Things explores the aspect of David Harbour auditioning for the role of Eleven rather than Chief Hopper.

The skit pokes lighthearted fun at the prospect of David Harbour deeply wanting the role of Eleven, despite the casting call for Eleven being that of a young girl. During the skit, Harbour acts out various moments from Season One of Stranger Things. Moments not limited to mirroring scenes where Eleven was clad in a big yellow t-shirt and throwing one of her tantrums - Harbour went all in with his audition.

The skit is in no way meant to be taken seriously but all in all, David Harbour is quite talented and definitely has the nerve to take on these side projects even when they're just for fun. He may not have intended to audition for Eleven but Harbour could have auditioned for almost any role in Stranger Things and would have made it work, just maybe not Eleven.

Should David Harbour have been cast as Eleven, rather than Chief Jim Hopper on Stranger Things?
