Deadpool 2

Movie review

Deadpool is a film that has balanced all its features to make a great film. It incorporates different elements of fantasy and science fiction. Despite a compelling lead performance by Ryan Reynolds and a great soundtrack, Deadpool 2 never gets out of the shadow of its memorable physical scenes, humorous lines and the action packed scenes.

I love the energetic suspense as it captures the intensity and leaves the viewers wanting more. This sequel creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy with friends at your local cinema. Ultimately, the constant action and friendship between characters swept me through the admittedly violent scenes and dialogue. Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin's chemistry would carry on throughout the film even with some difficult circumstances. The beginning of the film in particular, when the gun was fired at Vanessa, resulting in killing her, the way Wade reacted to the situation described the type of character he is.

The film is covered with red and orange pallets that shine through the costumes, alongside bold colours to define each individual character and to portray their personality and to leave a statement. For example, Deadpool wears his mask to cover his face that was left once scarred in the first film. The costumes enhance the emotions and feelings of every story line. Every frame is unique in their own way. For instance, in the first scene there were vibrant orange and red to distinguish the type of setting and the storyline.

Despite the loss and loneliness, Deadpool reflect on the humour and breaking the fourth wall. Throughout this film we see Ryan Reynolds speak directly to the camera. This follows on from the first film in which he broke the fourth wall numerous times. The tone used keeps the excitement going in every scene. Deadpool may seem confident and overly excited, but the joy of saving a young boy from making a terrible mistake becomes his priority and mission.

The upbeat and high intense music contributes to a great fight scene. Whenever Deadpool fights a villain music will begin and it will be relatable to that particular scene. However, the silence that runs through the slow motion scenes creates suspense and it makes the scenes more exciting and interesting for the viewers. We will constantly here to sound of a firearm as it is used frequently throughout the film whether that is it a fight scene or a confrontational scene. The music and sound effects will keep you constantly on the edge of your seat and wanting more.

Ryan Reynolds is a great actor. He varies his acting ability depending on the scene. For example, he can be serious as well as playing a funny character. In this film we see different types of acting. However, he mainly portrays a humorous character.

In the end, the characters of Deadpool 2 reflect on friendship and survival. But, it is far too addictive to get up until the end and in the last scene it unravels and reveals the truth.

Overall, I personally think that this film is worth watching as it is action packed and moving. Hopefully, we will see a third film being made. There were many hints to suggest that there will be. Make sure you wait till after the credits as there will be extra scenes. These are definitely worth watching and to suggest a third film. This is a film that must not be missed as it creates so much suspense and it is intense.

"Deadpool 2 is relentless and all the more fabulous for it, battering you enjoyably with pop culture references"- The Sun.
