Spoilers follow for The Walking Dead Season 7.
Update: AMC released new photos from the March 26th episode (included below), "Something They Need," that further hint at Sasha's bleak future.
The latest episode of The Walking Dead, "The Other Side," featured all of the set-ups for a spectacular season finale in two weeks. But one character's scenes in particular seemed to hint at an iconic death from the comics taking place in the series.
Is Sasha going to die on The Walking Dead soon?
In tonight's episode, we see Rosita and Sasha on their rogue mission to kill Negan. They eventually make it into the Saviors' compound, but Sasha leaves Rosita behind.
We all know that situation won't end well for Sasha. She's probably not going to be able to kill Negan on her own, so the most likely outcome is that she'll be captured and/or killed by the Saviors.
On Tuesday, AMC released pictures from the March 26th episode that show Sasha in a cell, so she's definitely been captured. Is her fate sealed?
After all, actress Sonequa Martin-Green is joining the cast of Star Trek: Discovery, and tonight's episode gave Sasha plenty of suspiciously bittersweet moments, from setting aside her differences with Rosita to giving Enid a keepsake to remember her by.
Could Sasha wind up like Holly from the comics?
During the "All Out War" event in the comic books, Abraham's girlfriend Holly was captured by Negan after Rick's militia made an attempt on the Saviors' compound. Negan then returned to Alexandria with Holly in tow — but as a walker.
Now, Sasha isn't a direct adaptation of Holly, but we now know that Sasha is going to be found by the Saviors, so she'll be a captive during the attack made by Rick's army teased in the promo for next week's episode, "Something They Need."
Knowing Negan's demented type of thinking, he could have Sasha turned into a walker and sent out to greet Rick's army, similar to how Holly was delivered to Rick's group in the comics.
Regardless, we'll have to wait for next week's episode to find out what happens to Sasha. Even then, her death would most likely be held off until the fast-approaching season finale, "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life," on April 2nd.
