After two years of waiting, Disney has announced some news about their upcoming streaming service that is to be released on November 12th. At just $6.99 a month, you can get a wide variety of films, TV Shows, and even documentaries of how their films are made.

DisneyPlus was announced to be nothing like Netflix’s streaming service. This streaming service will come with customized settings and individual profiles. And that’s not all, DisneyPlus brings something even cooler: Avatars. In your own DisneyPlus profile, you will be able to customize an avatar with characters from their library. Pretty cool, right?

Right now DisneyPlus is only going to be released around certain parts of the globe, but over the year or so, DisneyPlus will be launching in each major region of the world.

DisneyPlus is expected to be a simpler user interface, with movie and television tiles arranged against a dark background, similar to Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu’s interface. Also similar to the other streaming services, there will be a “recommended for you” row of suggested shows and movies, as well as an option to “continue watching” programs.

In a differentiator from rival streaming services, subscribers will be able to download all DisneyPlus content for offline access.

Marvel Studios

Marvel presents their first heavily contributed live-action shows to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) are appearing in a new show, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Not only is this duo getting a show, but Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are getting one as well. Their show is rumored to take place in the 1950s. And last, but not least, Marvel Studios’ first animated series: Marvel’s What If. This animation takes inspiration from the comic books of the same name. Each episode will explore a pivotal moment from the MCU and turn it on its head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.

Walt Disney Animation Studio

Walt Disney brings us a documentary series showing all the hard work and imagination that went into making one of the most highly anticipated Walt Disney Animation Studios features of all time: Frozen 2.

Pixar Animation Studio

From the creators of Toy Story, we will get a few Toy Story-based projects. Here are just some of the projects that will be appearing in the new DisneyPlus: Forky Asks a Question, an animated short series, and the short film Lamp Life.

Additionally, DisneyPlus welcomes all 30 seasons of The Simpsons. They will be available on the streaming service on day one.
