'Divergent' Series' Shailene Woodley Discovers The Fault In Our Laws, Gets Arrested For Trespassing While Protesting

Shailene Woodley has been a bit of a controversial celebrity since she hit superstardom with the film series Divergent, from her views on feminism to the fact that she likes to eat clay. However, today might have just pushed her over the edge as she has been arrested for criminal trespassing during a peaceful protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline.

In a video that she posted on her Facebook, she tried to capture the events of the protest keeping everyone up to date. At one point she has the camera facing the wrong way and when she returns she lets everyone know what happened:

"I don't know if you guys just heard me, but I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue. And they had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they're not letting me go."

When she tried to make her way back to the car they informed her that she was being arrested as she had been identified:

"Alright I'm being arrested. Because I was trespassing like everyone. As soon as you guys asked me to leave, I left. She was down there, everybody was down there. I'm being arrested. I was down there with everybody else. I don't know what's going on? As soon as they came I left… it's because I'm well known. It's because I have 40,000 people watching."

She goes to say

"So everybody knows…we were going to our vehicle which they had all surrounded and waiting for me with giant guns and a giant truck behind them just so they could arrest me. I hope you're watching mainstream media."

Though she does say that she was the only one arrested, 26 other people were also arrested for criminal trespassing. I guess even if you are a celebrity you can't get away with everything (looking at you, Donald Trump).
