There are many movie fan theories circling the web, the most famous being the Pixar theory. One theory recently surfaced on Reddit by user bigboxman8 that suggest the Beast from Beauty and the Beast is actually a time lord from the world of Doctor Who. Is it possible? He gives some evidence that seems to strongly support his theory. So, let's see if the Beast by any chance owns a blue police box in his castle! Geronimo!

Regeneration/Transformation

Apparently, the transformation the Beast undergoes to become human at the end of the film is very similar to the regeneration of the Doctor. Our Reddit friend provides proof (with the picture above) that shows the "regeneration energy." Both the Beast and the Doctor have a yellow light shooting out of their fingertips while transforming. Also, both the Doctor and the Beast started their change when they're about to die.

But if they are both time lords, why does one appear human and the other a beast?

Time Lords Can Turn Into Beasts

It is possible for a Time Lord to turn into a beast during regeneration. The Doctor has appeared bodily as different ages from old to young. Time lords can also switch genders. The thirteenth doctor is now currently a woman, just like her nemesis The Master. A Time Lord can transform into very different bodies. So, why not the body of someone not so human? You know, like a beast?

Now the Beast may not have a blue police box (darn!), but he may have something similar.

The Castle: It's Bigger On The Inside

Our Reddit friend also argues that the Beast's castle may have rooms that appear bigger on the inside. The castle is supposedly too small to accommodate massive rooms like the library shown to Belle. The Doctor's famous blue TARDIS is known for being smaller on the outside and bigger on the inside. So, perhaps the castle has some sort of Time Lord magic in it. Honestly, I feel like this one may be a stretch, but it's still possible.

Now I'm going to watch Beauty and the Beast with a different perspective. Our prince not just a beast, but a Time Lord. Talk about a tale as old as time!

What do you think of this theory? Is the Beast really a Time Lord?
