Does This 'Thor: Ragnarok' Sideshow Collectible At SDCC Reveal A Spoiler About Loki's Role?
Thousands of Comic-Con attendees are currently in line to catch reveals from posters, costumes and so much more — including figurines, in the case of Thor: Ragnarok.
San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, and thousands of attendees are currently in line to catch reveals from posters, costumes and so much more — including figurines, in the case of Thor: Ragnarok.
At the Sideshow Collectibles booth, figurines for Thor, Hulk and Loki appear together, with one of them potentially revealing a huge detail about Thanos's involvement in Ragnarok.
Loki is holding the Tesseract.
It's interesting to see the Loki collectible holding the Cosmic Cube, also known as the tesseract, considering that it hasn't been seen since The Avengers in 2012 when Thor took it back to Asgard for safekeeping. So it's safe to conclude that the cube will resurface in Ragnarok.
Now, you may be thinking that alone isn't a major spoiler, but when you pair it with reports from the Avengers: Infinity War footage shown at D23, then it becomes much juicier...
In the D23 footage, Loki reportedly hands the tesseract to an unknown figure (so this collectible would confirm that). Although we never see the figure, we can see that they are clearly taller than Loki; it could be Thanos himself or one of the Black Order. We know that, at some point, Thanos needs all the Infinity Stones to complete his gauntlet. And while Loki has been sitting on the throne of Asgard, disguised as Odin, it seems plausible for Thanos to come to Asgard calling for it — or for Loki to offer it in exchange for the Mad Titan's assistance in dealing with Hela, who is destroying Asgard.
With Marvel set to take over Hall H for two hours at #SDCC2017 on Saturday, it's likely that more details will surface about Thor: Ragnarok.
