DOTA Cosplayer Adelhaid Branches Out to Street Fighter and More

Russia's cosplay scene has a lot of folks who are absolutely on point when it comes to their cosplay. Must be something in the vodka, I assume. Maria Avdonushkina aka Adelhaid is a prime example of someone who takes her cosplay to the next level. From Street Fighter to Ghost In The Shell, she always seems to bring her A game into whatever she does. With that in mind, here are five of my favorite works by the amazing Adelhaid.

5. Juri Han- Super Street Fighter IV & Street Fighter V

A villain in the Street Fighter series that quickly became a fan favorite, Juri certainly has a very distinct look about her. Adelhaid got the sadistic vibe down pat and her costume makes her look like she just leapt out of the game. Mad props to the photographer, Eva, as well. The shoot really brought out the Juri vibes.

4. Sora - Escaflowne

This cosplay is an absolute throwback and when I saw it, I had to throw it on the list. Escaflowne was released back in 2000 and was one of the first animes I recall seeing. I was 11 at the time so I don't remember much. What I do remember is that it somehow broke my heart. Knowing anime, someone probably sacrificed themselves in such a heroic fashion that it stuck with me forever. Also, it just hit home that it's been 16 years since I've seen Escaflowne. Oh, my God. Right — moving on.

3. Lady Emeraldas - Cosmo Warrior Zero

I'll be honest, I didn't even know what Cosmo Warrior Zero was until I saw Adelhaid rocking her Lady Emeraldas. Judging from the costume, I thought it was an anime from the old school days, but it turns out it's pretty recent. The series of OVAs were first released in 2001 and I may or may not have started watching it because of her.

2. Mia Fey - Phoenix Wright

If there's one thing the Phoenix Wright series taught me is that I'd make a terrible attorney. That aside, I have no objections about Adelhaid's wonderful rendition of Mia Fey. Get it? Because — Okay, so I'm also terrible at puns. Let's just move on, yeah?

1. Rylai the Crystal Maiden - DOTA 2

I'll be honest, I didn't get as much into DOTA 2 as the rest of my friends back when this thing was popular. The game became their entire life and I wasn't about that at the time. That being said, that doesn't meant I can't appreciate an awesome shot like this.
